This comment is made a lot and the answer is really simple. I always have intentions on seeing the show when I enter, things come up in our lives at the last minute and it prevents people from going. I'm sorry if you are personally offended by people not going to lotteries that they have won.
That's fair but the poster in this thread said he won AIP 6 times and didn't go once. That's ridiculous. No excuse for that."
This is why I don't like digital lotteries and preferred the in person lotteries. If you're already there in person and you win, you pay and attend the show. Versus, if you win and decide not to go so you don't pay and the tickets go to no one.
Don't enter if you can't 100% attend! It isn't fair for those of us who can actually attend the show to lose when others win and just decide not to go.
A simple solution to this is taking people's credit card info upon entering, then if you win, you're automatically charged.
I'm going to go ahead and cover my bases here because I can: as was said earlier, it's pretty hard to know 100 percent that you'll be able to go because the chance is always miniscule that you'll win (i.e. entering daily, it's hard to know for sure). With all of these, my wholehearted intention was to go, but stuff comes up, and it's harder to make these things work with more than one or two people. The AiP wins speaks to how many lottery tickets they were giving out towards the end of the run. I had no way of knowing they would offer tickets for all of the entries, and had I known, I wouldn't have had everyone in the group enter. It didn't end up working out, which is sad, but I also did have an intention of seeing the shows if possible.
I've also had pretty major luck with the digital lotteries since moving to NYC:
Aladdin (front row mez, all the way to the left - partial view but was totally fine!)
The Lion King (last row in the theater, center)
Matilda (rear mez)
Phantom of the Opera (front row, center)
On Your Feet (front row, right)
The Illusionists (center orchestra, did it matter? the theater was empty!)
Kinky Boots (first box, right)
Book of Mormon (back box, left)
I'm extremely grateful for the lotteries... but have been so frustrated with Hamilton. I think I've entered Hamilton over 250+ times at this point. I also can't seem to win School of Rock... or Dear Evan Hansen. Maybe this is my month!
I've been trying for about a month to win the Hamilton lottery with no luck, and maybe about a week ago I started trying for other lotteries. Well, I won for the first time yesterday!
I won tickets to the matinee showing of Cirque Du Soleil Paramour and rushed up there with my dad in order to attend (we live about a 2 hour drive away). And then when I was at the show I won tickets to In Transit and If I Forget! Unfortunately I couldn't attend either of those since I brought my dad and he didn't want to stay much longer. I probably would've been tempted to stay for one of those if I went up with a friend.
It was a great experience and amazing seats for the price (right orch row J)! I'm still holding out for Hamilton though
Won Cats two weeks ago- Front Mezz. Seemed like literally 40 people around us had also won lotto that day.
Won Dear Evan Hansen the first week of February. Seat was row A 5. Horrible seat. You miss Evan on the ground right before, "You Will be Found" amongst many other things. Also you will leave with a neck cramp. Happy I got to go just to 'be there' but not ideal.

I won today...orchestra row M center seats 118 and 120. Fantastic view!! Also, I have had a theory about the lotteries on broadway direct, whoever pays first gets the best seats. Like first come first serve. I paid at 2:49 for on your feet and got mid mezz, i paid at 11:06 for sunset boulevard and got orchestra center while I noticed others getting balcony and mezz scatters........btw what a magnificent show!!!

I won Sunday and got Orchestra row K seats 5 & 7. Slightly obstructed view but still great seats and close.
I've entered HAMILTON more times than I can remember, and obviously, lost. No idea how to win that one... And, I have had friends in the show over the course of its' run. Including right now. I'd love to see them shine up there, especially for $10.
Of the lotteries I *have* won:
HOLIDAY INN - Front row - 12/24/16 @ 8:00 PM
IN TRANSIT - I won back in early February, but gave up my tix so someone else could go. Severe weather precluded MTA from working that night.
I am a girl on a budget and rely on lotteries//rush. I'm very thankful when I win whatever seat I can get. I've noticed those "you've won" emails are becoming harder to come by.
Current shows I've rushed:
Comet
The Price
Sunset Blvd
War Paint
In Transit
Current Show Lotteries Won:
Kinky Boots
On Your Feet
Hamilton (after entering every day for a year, I printed & framed that "You Won" email)
I'd be happy to share specifics on seats, day, time, when I rushed/won etc if there's a specific show you're looking to see

What were the seats like and how many winners would you say there were?
"
The seats were second row of the rear mezz all the way house left. I have no idea how many people won but I went a second time and half the rear mezz was empty so I doubt it's that hard to rush or win the lottery.
Book of Mormon: Took me a little over a month of trying when you win you get to pick your own seats, we got rear, center orchestra. Great deal.
Sunset Boulevard: Won on my first time entering, couldn't attend, unfortunately.
Kinky Boots: I've won this multiple times, but even if you don't win you get a discount code which is a great deal. The time I won and went was about a year ago and we were in the box.
Back in December between Christmas and Jan 2nd i was in the city with completely my own schedule. I miss Broadways shows living in Florida (I lived for 41 years in NYC and started going to see Broadway shows at age 4). So I had bought 3 tickets prior to coming to NYC for Falsettos, DEH and BOM. I used TKTS for other tickets and entered lotteries as well. I won The Humans which I was thrilled about. I was on the fence about seeing it so winning the lottery seemed like a go ahead!
My seats were great, the show was great-I was thrilled!
TheThreadMaster said: "Would anyone do me the pleasure of saying where the aladdin digital lottery seats are usually?
Not sure if this is the same for everyone.....but my Aladdin lottery winning seats back in December were last row in theater and last 2 seats far left.
Ham seats at $10 for front row (not to mention absolutely sold out show) are an amazing deal, to say the least. I've lost so many times, hundreds.
I've won Wicked and Fun Home and they were definitely great seats -
but my reason for posting here is to say:
I saw Aladdin on a "lottery" win (actually a friend who entered for her and husband and both won, so she gave two to me to take my kid) and I was stunned at how awful the seats were that I had to actually pay money for! I think it was $35 or $40 - and the seats were literally the second to last row in the balcony, second to last on the extreme side. And the theater is HUGE. and HIGH. I thought I was going to die of vertigo. I actually said, "You are kidding me" when I got into the space of the balcony and looked down. The way the usher reacted - ready to summon a manager to speak with me - I was surprised but said no no. I wondered if lots of people before me had my reaction. I couldn't embarrass and disappoint my child like that so I put up and shut up. I'm sure I would have really enjoyed the show had I been anywhere in the mezz or orchestra.
I did not think those lottery seats were worth $35 or 40. But I guess there are people dying of joy to be 'in the room' with Aladdin? Obviously they can offer what they want in the lottery and as the show is often sold out, and the seats are less than box office sale price, it's can be perceived as a great deal. Yet at the time, the box office ticket price for those crappy seats was actually $60 or $65, and I couldn't believe it. You would have to pay me to sit in those seats again! I guess this long ramble is to say be warned- lottery seats aren't imho such an 'automatic' great deal. I will in the future be prepared for the worst seats in the house-unless otherwise specified- and only be willing to spend the money knowing that....
Just saw Present Laughter today on a lottery win... all seats were first few rows, extreme sides, partial view.
That said, if you win, go on house right. There is a door where a lot of people enter on house left, and I couldn't see any of the coming/going through there. Not that it mattered too much, but had I know, I'd've sat on the other side.
