They must be giving out a lot - because I won the matinee yesterday and someone I know from work won the evening show.  And from this thread, it seems like everyone has won them :)

Ahmy, concerning the PRESENT LAUGHTER lottery, does the winner have to pay extra fees over and above the lottery winner price?   I've never heard of a lottery that stipulates that, but I thought I heard that from someone.  Thanks.

Just curious: did you get to the box office early (like 30 minutes before curtain)? If they really give out tickets by arrival time, I wonder if they start with the best seats and latecomers get mezzanine

No, the ticket was $42 plus Ticketmaster fees, I think. Totally worth it.

I won " Lion King" today, but checked in too late, you have to claim by 10 am, I thought that the lottery closes at 10 am. , but it is 9 a.m. for King

Bummer! I did see it many years ago, but  would love to see it again for $30 if I ever win again.

Playing Hamilton every day-no luck for this one!!

Last trip into NYC over Memorial Day weekend entered a few lotteries for the first time and won for Present Laughter (which was my #1 choice). Seats were for center mezzanine Row M, but they had less than a full house that day and ended up moving us up to center mezz Row E - perfect vantage point.

Has anyone else stopped receiving lottery notification emails for the BOM and Kinky Boots lotteries? I always used to get the "sorry, you didn't win" emails and suddenly they stopped arriving in the last week or so...

I had the weirdest lotto experience today - I was checking my email every 30 seconds to see if I won seats to Groundhog Day tomorrow night because I'm planning to go with a friend, and if I lost the lotto I wanted to snap up discount tickets with the "consolation prize" code.

Results usually come around 12:30pm and at 1:00pm when I still had nothing, I went to their result checker website and put in my email address. It said that I won!! Except - for the matinee, which I hadn't entered for! I was so confused, and the site had no further details or way to check info, just said "see email for more details". Well, my email came twenty minutes later, to tell me that I *lost*.

Has this ever happened to anyone before??

Anyone else get the Hamilton loser email between 8 and 15 minutes late? Also, lotteries where its discretion of box office do not give out the best tix based on who gets their first. It is based on who pays first. I have paid before for an aladdin saturday matinee at 9:02 and gotten a box, while when I have won it a separate time and paid at 9:53 I had recieved orchestra last row corner.

Sunset Boulevard is actually based on who gets there first, there's a list of winners and a pile of tickets... that was the only one though.

And I actually never got the Hamilton "loser" email on time, it's always late, sometimes even by 2 hours... I usually just check their website to see that I lost... yet again... lol

I still haven't gotten an email from the Kinky Boots lotto. Are they usually late?

Late is subjective. Also, there is no urgency in telling you you didn't win anything, no?

Nope, but no harm in me checking to make sure I did it right, yeah?

Wow, congrats! Have you been entering a lot? I made my husband enter the other day just to see if he would have 'first time luck', but nope!

Every day I have no evening plans, I enter... for months on end. Also have a ticket for August, so even better! Ticket Lottery winners?

I've received the Hamilton (and other Broadway Direct Lottery shows) winning emails exactly on the hour the lottery closes every time. The loser emails have come between the :01, :02 all the way to hours late.

Congrats!! That would be my theatre lottery dream come true, if I ever win  Hamilton. How long have you been trying  before you got the winning email? I am trying for six months now.

But I  won Lion King two days in the row,  June 20th (was too late to claim), entered it again, and won the next day also, so I saw 2 pm show, Lion King,  yesterday. Loved it very much, great  orchestra seat too.

But I am dreaming about "You Won" for Hamilton show, not yet. Hope some day!! Can not afford $800 ticket price

More than a year, but I did take a few months off when I changed my sleep schedule to work on my novel...

"Can not afford $800 ticket price"

I have $199 tickets for August, just have to grab them quickly when the next block is sold online... $849 is just for premium.

I won the lottery for $20 tickets for a production of Spring Awakening at a small theatre in Melbourne (our version of Off-Broadway I guess!) 3 weeks ago. It was a fantastic production and the company more than redeemed itself after its awful first show (The Full Monty) this year! It was an online entry and they gave me a couple of days notice that I'd won and asked me to RSVP or they'd reallocate the tickets, which I thought was a great idea.

My sister won the Wicked lottery back in 2009 when it was first here and we were obsessed teenage girls! It was the last weekend matinee of the school holidays before it closed and there was a chance that Carmen Cusack was going on and about 300 people turned up. My mum and I thought we were wasting our time but my sister was convinced we'd win and sure enough she did! I think the tickets were $30. And then because they'd had such a good turn out they opened up the back half of the balcony that they'd previously blocked off and sold 'loser' tickets for $50.

Between the 3 of us we've also won tickets to Rock of Ages (the sole time I've used fake ID was to pretend I was my 17yo sister to collect those tickets!), Les Mis (including an afternoon tea), Mother, Wife and the Complicated Life and a couple of cabaret shows!

Unfortunately pretty much all the lotteries here are in person so it's a bit difficult to enter if you don't work in the city!

I've won a few and lost a lot.

Won: Book of Mormon (in person, first try, front row), On Your Feet (2nd try, middle of orchestra left), Kinky Boots (entered maybe 20 times before winning, during Brendon Urie's time as Charlie, left box), Dear Evan Hansen (entered daily for 2-3 months before winning, standing room)

Never Won: Hamilton (have been entering daily for over a year), Aladdin (entering daily for a few months), Lion King (entering daily for a few months)

I'm pretty sure I would cry if I finally won Hamilton. Every day I enter, as well as my mom, dad and husband. Now that it's on the app this will be harder though -- I'll have to remind them.

Won War Paint lottery 2 of the 3 times I entered.  Unfortunately, I did not follow thru either time because I wanted to see something else.  Never won for Hamilton.  Probably never will.

Then why enter?

Back when The Human's was on, I won it every single time I entered. The first three times I didn't bite because I couldn't find someone to take the extra ticket. The last time I just went and saw it alone. Some are just easier than others. I've entered Dear Evan Hansen almost 100 times but still no bite.

I miss in-person lottos -- they felt like a bone to throw people who lived or worked in Manhattan so they could finally see a show for cheap if they tried enough times. At least then I would feel like I had a chance. The only show with in-person lottos anymore is Wicked. It's crazy how quickly it all changed over -- probably two months from when the first show started doing online lotteries (Hamilton? Probably due to crowd control issues), they all were.
