If / Than???
Via is kind of nifty
Footloose feh
if/then is terrible.
I liked Rocky's design, but without the image, it was just super bland.

"Finding Namo" Aw, that's sweet, StageManager2. I've actually seen your photo and I admit I am not as good as you are at making the best out of so little to work with.
I never got the Wizard of Oz reference in the "If/Then" poster (or as ______ likes to call it, "If/Than") before today. It's wicked subtle.

Is the Wizard of Oz reference the one girl's green sunglasses?

That's another!
The fact that the "IF" of "IF/THEN" is a completely different font and bolded from everything else drives me baths*t crazy. And I can't explain why.
Pray tell: WHAT is wrong with the Sunday in the Park with George poster? I've always loved it.
I just don't like it

To the adolescent mind "I don't like it" makes it appropriate to include in a list of "ugliest broadway show posters."
That comment makes no sense. Everything I post is an opinion because I can't speak objectively. When I say I don't like it means that my personal opinion is that it is ugly. This isn't a list of the most objectively ugly posters because that isn't a real thing. This is a thread specifically for opinions. I posted it, so who else's opinion would it be? Sheesh.
And I still don't appreciate your ageism Namo.

Its really not a matter of ageism
It comes down to a case of "You don't know what the hell you are talking about"

Oh I am so sick of teen twats bemoaning agesism.
It's a fact, boy, that your brain has a LOT of developing to do.
Ugh. You just have to constantly pick a fight, don't you? Does it make you feel powerful to be nasty to people on the internet?
Saying that I'm wrong or that I "don't know what the hell [I'm] talking about" because I'm young is ageism plain and simple.

No, pure and simple ageism is firing ______ because he's so old his brain doesn't know the difference between "then" and "than."
Again, I recognize you're working way too hard to present a facade of refined grown up taste. Sorry I pointed out the "I hate veggies"-like reasoning behind your dislike of the lovely Sunday in the Park with George poster.
Oh I am so sick of pretentious board members compaining endlessly about the plague of *gasp* young peoples' opinions! A 16 year old's thought can be just as good as a 65 year old's.
Fantod has every right to dislike the poster. It doesn't mean he "doesn't know what the hell he's talking about" it just means his taste is different than yours.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think the poster to Soon is awesome. I don't know that show but I would hang that in my house in a hot second.
That Desire Under the Elms poster looks like a final project in a beginning Photoshop class.
The "Carrie" Poster is brilliant, simple, powerful .

What is the reference to The Wizard Of Oz on the If/Then poster? Is it the yellow brick road?
The orange gradient in the Sunday poster is very outdated now, and very much reflects 'modern' in the 80s. It does not look the best today, but other than the gradient it is beautiful. I loved how they adapted the theme of the original artwork using pixels for the recent Chocolate Factory Production.
I like the Sunday poster as well, but the modern George's boots bother me.
The point is that the poster doesn't have a REASON for his dislike. This being a DISCUSSION board makes an explanation important. It is immature to say, "just because", so therefore age IS A FACTOR.
CAN a young person have a valid opinion? Of course, but you have to be able to back it up.

"A 16 year old's thought can be just as good as a 65 year old's. "
Or better.
And as witness ths board, a lot better than some 20, 30, 40, and 50 year olds'.
As for ugly posters, add Sweeney Todd's to the list.
