I hate Follies. Sondheim is probably my favorite musical theatre composer, but in my opinion Follies is his worst show and I have never understood what people think is so great about it.
Also, I think Kathleen Marshall is one of the most overrated choreographers of all time and that the Anything Goes revival was absolutely terrible.
Amen regarding Sutton Foster!
Can't stand her.

I also didn't like the score of the Scottsboro Boys.
Spring Awakening has a special place in my heart. Lea Michele doesn't deserve the flak she gets here (even if I join in occasionally).

I thought Neil Patrick Harris was a horrific Tony Awards Host
Rent is overrated
I have no interest to see Phantom

Oh, a few others I thought of:
"Spring Awakening" the biggest, most overrated piece of crap I have ever seen. I mean, just...wow...
And, I know there's a gay sniper somewhere waiting for me to leave my building, but, I think Sondheim isn't all that great. His stuff is just, eh for me.
Here are few:
I don't like the score to Cabaret. It just isn't my style.
I love Neil Patrick Harris but don't think he should sing.
Sweeney Todd's score is great in context but I hate it on a recording.
Sunday In The Park With George is Sondheim's best score.

As much as I try to hate it, I absolutely love Jekyll & Hyde. I'm not a huge Wildhorn fan, but I love this musical. Except for when David Hasselhoff was Jekyll. The Hoff could ruin any piece of theatre!
I'm gonna get lynched for this haha
-WICKED is IMO one of the best musicals
-RENT...when performed by a brilliant cast is a legit moving piece of theater...when performed by a horrid cast...it's crap
-Sonheim is terribly overrated (although Into the Woods is amazing)
-ALW is terribly overrated
-Chris Colfer is not doing the gay community any favors
-Neil Patrick Harris is a great actor and a decent singer
-Idina Menzel may not have the most polished voice...but she certainly brings emotion and edge to her performance
-Creative teams should not set out to create a "edgy" musical...it should just happen without purpose if that makes sense
-A Little Night music is Sondheim's best work
-Ethel Merman's voice grates on my ears (but the biatch could belt)
-Obscure musicals are generally the best
-Jason Robert Brown is one of the best composers out there
-A show that becomes insanely popular does not make it "bad"
-With that being said...Phantom is boring
I sooooooo agree with you bernadettelupone17, Jekyll & Hyde is an awesome musical!!!!
There's only been three, possibly four, musicals in the last decade that were actually worth the ticket price. The rest? Scams for the tourist trade.

Here's another unpopular opinion of mine: I loved Barbra Streisand in Hello, Dolly!
Hey, I thought she was pretty good as well. Matthau, however.....
no ashamed to admit I really loved Wonderland.

I loved sister act. I thought patina miller was fantastic!
I really enjoyed seeing wicked and although the plot is a bit iffy I still love the music!
I had a lot of fun at rain actually!
I thought Rannells deserved the tony award
- I loved Wonderland
- HATED Lion King
- Lea Michele should disappear and never return to Broadway
- Spider-Man TOTD was an enjoyable night
- HAIR is the best thing I have ever seen

- Idina Menzel was by far not the best Elphaba (I do LOVE her in The Wild Party though)
- The Lion King really didn't do anything for me. I enjoyed it but I thought it was forgettable, wouldn't see it again.
- I thought Nathan Lane was pretty funny as Gomez, definitely made the show bearable.
- Ruthie Henshall is my favorite Fantine - not that I've seen many others but still.
I thought of some more...
- Women on the Verge deserved to be nominated for more Tonys. I think it should have had a spot in the best musical category over Catch Me If You Can
- The Scarlet Pimpernel should have been nominated for best score back in 1998
- Ragtime should have won best musical over Lion King AND best revival of a musical over La Cage back in 2010
- I find Phantom of the Opera to be a spectacular musical and do not find it overrated at all
- Norbert Leo Butz is beyond obnoxious and should not have won the Tony over Andrew Rannells
- Jersey Boys is a great show with some of the most original storytelling methods I have seen used in a Broadway show
- The Addams Family should have been nominated for, and even won, best musical over Memphis
- Spamalot is an obnoxious show and Light in the Piazza should have won for best musical
- I found the Gypsy revival with Patti Lupone to be far better than the Lincoln Center revival of South Pacific
Just thought of some after reading others haha
-"Wonderland" while far from being a perfect show did NOT deserve those reviews. I swear the critics have it out for Wildhorn...the show was actually decent (the music in some cases beautiful)
-Wildhorn is a better composer then some give him credit for
-Lion King...why is it still running? Beyond the clever effects...it's not that great IMO
-If it were not for tourists (which get a pretty bad rap on here) then Broadway would not really be around anymore.
Hair is one of the most moving pieces of art that I've ever seen or experienced. I'm so grateful for it.
YEAH 's rather extreme dislike of color blind casting apparently causes some people to consider him a racist. Gee, I wonder why? And why does this label cause him to "giggle uncontrollably"? That seems to be a pretty lame explanation of his point of view.
Re. PORGY AND BESS (to return to Broadway this coming season), prior to George Gershwin's writing of the score, the Theatre Guild was considering a musical version of the play PORGY to be done by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein, with Al Jolson to play in blackface the crippled hero who gets around with a goat cart! I wonder what YEAH would think of this crazy idea.
Another unpopular opinion:
I would buy tickets tomorrow if Ted Neeley and Ben Vereen came to NY in their signature JCS roles, even for only one night. The former can still sing the hell out of his part, and the latter is a performer's performer whose Judas was apparently a "you gotta see it to believe it" type performance.

My unpopular opinion is that I think Bernadette Peters sings like she always has a cold. Some songs it sounds like she about to sneeze all over you
- Sherie Rene Scott deserved to get a Tony nomination over Beth Leavel.
- BABY, IT'S YOU should've closed already.
- PRISCILLA is a fabulous show to see (if you go in open-minded and are not expecting Sondheim).
- Patrick Stewart was the greatest part of the recent revival of A LIFE IN THE THEATRE.
