Thanks for the update Anthony! I've been telling everyone I know for about the past two weeks, that tomorrow is the start of filming... mostly to confused looks! lol. Best of luck on the shoot. I know all of you will do us proud and do justice to the material.

I am sure all of you are glad to "kick things off" here in NYC. Seems fitting.
Also, since the three of you are loosing wait for the move, am I correct that this is the reason for the less than tamed hair on Mr. Pascal? ( I'm sorry, couldn't resist).
I want to write music. I want to sit down right now at my piano and write a song that people will listen to and remember and do the same thing every morning...for the rest of my life. - Jonathan Larson. Tick, Tick...BOOM!
Thanks for the update Anthony . A nice way to end a good day. Hooray for first day of official RENT filming!!! Good luck to you and the rest of the cast and crew.

PS. And thanks for finally clearing up the "what's his natural hair color?" debacle. Now the minds of BWW-goers may wander off to other random things.... :-P

I'll join in the welcome party. Welcome Fizz. Have fun here. As you know it can get crazy, but we like it anyway.
Glad to see Rent's off.

Cheers. I'll drink to that. Okay well maybe not, but you know what I mean.

:-P Yeah its the thought that counts. But I'll officially raise my bottle of key lime juice squeeze tommorow in honor of RENT. :-P People will stare at me like I've lost my mind but it'll be worth it.

I'm on a quick break and headed into a local internet cafe to send off a word about filming the first shot of the movie. Woo HOO. Man, is it cold out. And it was even colder when we started, at around 7:45 this morning. But needless to say it has been joyful to walk onto a New York City street in my old neighborhood and see all the trailers and equipment and crew members and realize that it's all *really happening.* But I'm not kidding about the cold, and it's very reminiscent of the last time I filmed something with Chris Columbus -- we were in Toronto and Chicago in the dead of winter, from January till March, filming mostly at night.
But it's worth it to shiver a little bit, believe me.
The shot was of me riding my bike down the street, during a couple of lines of What You Own... Sporting the striped scarf, of course. (Had I mentioned that was in the movie?) And wearing my Mark glasses and with the haircut and everything. No plaid coat, though, since the pattern would be too intense and busy for the camera.
Anyway, more when I get a chance. We're off and running, making great time, and having a blast.
Squeee! This is all so exciting to know that it REALLY is happening. Thank you so much, Anthony, for taking the time to update.
It does suck though that the weather is soooo cold in NYC. It is gorgeous and sunny here in the San Fran Bay Area. Hopefully it'll stay that way for when you guys come back here. Try to stay warm while you're in NYC though. :)
thank you so much for keeping us updated, anthony!! it really is wonderful that you take time out of your day to do this. quick question: will filming still be in ny the week before easter? because it's the same time as my spring break and i wanted to go and see if i could watch some of the filming.. gosh, that would make my day. ________________________________________________________________

Hi Anthony. I left a question on the message board back in early Feb and it was never answered. So I'm just going to repost it. **I'm not trying to be a pest.** Thanks for check in, I'm starting to get excited. Ok, so here is the original post:
Hi Anthony. Many times when a stage show is produced as a movie, the authors will include a new song into the score. Since Johnathan is no longer with us, has there been consideration to include any new music that was previously cut? I heard one of the songs from the workshop that has been floating around on the net called "For someone cool, you're a fool", which I thought was great!
Good luck on the movie! I'm so excited for its release!
Anthony, I've been a lurker on this thread for a long time, and may I just say that you are quite possibly the coolest person on earth for doing all these updates? Thanks for caring that we care so much about this film. So excited that it's finally underway! Have fun--and hope you can defrost! It's so friggin cold today!!
