Still in high school, in fact I'm leaving for our first rehearsal in about an hour.

Li'l Abner (Freshman year - Crony/Bullmoose's Secretary/Cedric Softwicke)
South Pacific (Sophomore year - Harbison)
Grease (current year, Junior - Lead Dancer)

I don't know about any of you that remember your high school shows, but was there more drama involved in the casting and stuff than there was on the actual stage? Definitely how it is at my school - they make the politics so obvious.

Last year my grade performed the bourgoise gehtleman and i was the stage manager. I was also in one of the dance scenes. THis year as our senior play we will be performing a play my friend dan is writing. I should mention i don't act!

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!

Musicals:
The Sound of Music- Friedrich Von Trapp
42nd Street-Bert Barry (amazing show and experience. Our Peggy injured herself two weeks before the show opened and an understudy had to learn the part in just three days. The show hit a little too close to home for us:)
Fame-Schlomo Metzenbaum...luckily I had a bunch of friends in the show to make it not a complete waste of time.
Play:
Voices from the High School..had a couple scenes, it's a show made up entirely of monologues and scenes.

"I hope you're all happy, keeping Alan off the team. Couldn't you, for once, open your minds and hearts and hear something that he couldn't see? I, for one, am glad that Alan is blind, so he can't see what, I am so sad to say, you can't hear." -Jerri Blank

HIGH SCHOOL:
- We did a cabaret when I was a freshman. We had many different songs and scenes. I sang in "Comedy Tonight", "Cool", and a few other songs, and I played Romeo in the balcony scene of ROMEO & JULIET.
- ONCE UPON A MATTRESS (I was to play the Minstrel, but I had to drop out because of prior engagements)
- FAHRENHEIT 451 (Beatty)
- SCAPIN (Scapin)
- THE CRUCIBLE (Deputy-Gov. Danforth... I got the part two days before we opened. The kid dropped out and, since I was the most reliable and skilled actor, I learned the lines in two days and kicked the sh*t out of that play. One of my most proud moments!)

REGIONAL:
- TERMINAL CAFÉ (BB)
- LINE (Dolan)
- YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN (Snoopy)
- GUYS AND DOLLS (Ensemble)
- AN EMPTY PLATE IN THE CAFÉ DU GRAND BOEUF (Antoine)

PROFESSIONAL:
- REBELS (Ensemble, u/s Joshua; world premiere musical)

READINGS/WORKSHOPS:
- SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE I MISSED THE TRAIN (Toby)
- MARY MAGDALENE IN A SUITCASE (Boy)
- IN SEARCH OF A BETTER LIFE WITH ELVIS (Toleo) Updated On: 1/3/05 at 06:10 PM

When I was in middle school my HS did "Into the Woods", "Once Upon a Mattress", "Taming of the Shrew" and "Kiss Me Kate". I know we have also done "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Brigadoon".

Musicals:
"Schoolhouse Rock, Live!" - tech
"Little Shop of Horrors" - Dentist Patient#1/Skid Row Resident/Skid Row Visitor (Basically Dentist Patient + Ensemble)
"Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" - Student Director
"Applause" - Petra (originially Peter, Margo Channing's agent"

Plays:
"The Foreigner" - tech
"M*A*S*H*" - Mitzi Bonwit (SOOOOOO FUN)
"Musical Comedy Murders of 1940" - Marjorie Baverstock
"Witness for the Prosecution" - still to be cast

Drama Final Projects, Competition pieces, etc:
(Separate category bc these were kind of cast by ourselves and/opr without real auditions)

"Midsummer Night's Dream" - Mustardseed/Fairy in Monologue
"For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls" (Parody of Glass Menagerie) - Amanda Wingvalley
(4 of us did this after 4 other students did Glass Menagerie. It was a hit and this was by far the best role I have ever played and the best script I have ever worked with.
"The Doctor Inspite of Himself" - Lucinde (she's mute until the end which didn't look like a lto of fun but it IS! Not a lot of lines but a LOT of fun)

I'm jealous of schools that get to do a musical every year. They have this system where we alternate every other year doing a musical and going on a trip. I would rather do a musical every year than go somewhere though.

Freshman year I was in the ensemble of birdie.
Now I'm in my junior year, and I'm the Herald in Cinderella because we don't have enough guys that can sing to have a male Herald.

Sometimes I really hate my school.

Why is M*A*S*H* so popular? It's got a big cast and and the name's famous. I suppose that's it.

None. My school district NEVER put on shows. In college, two years ago was the first musical they ever did and I was a part of it. It was OKLAHOMA! But, we did do two years of Musical Revues and I played a lot of characters. I had the most parts of the guys both years. Go Me!!!
