As I sit here, submitting my 62nd entry for the Chicago Hamilton lottery, I am curious if anybody else has had terrible luck winning a online or in-person lottery before.
I think it took me about 5 years to win the WICKED lottery.

It took me ten years.

The odds of winning aren't affected by how many times you've entered the lottery.
I won on the 45th try at Book of Mormon (the in-person lotto).
I entered into the Falsettos lottery since the first preview (so roughly 60 times), won for the Weds matinee before thanksgiving, and couldn't go because of work.
Don't know exactly, but I would say I won the Hamilton in Chicago lottery my 15th to 20th try.

Why would you enter when you know you have work?

I think if u enter any lottery and don't claim you should be banned for 30 days. It's so disrespectful to the people who want to go ... unless it's today tix bc iirc they call you right away and if u don't want, they pick another entrant.
Jeez...you are so quick to judge. Perhaps when he ENTERED, he was available, but things change. Emergencies happen, other people don't show up for their shift. Sheesh.

Won the Wicked and Book of Mormon in person lottery on my first try! Been trying Hamilton since May and still no luck though... same for Lion King...
I finally won the one Aladdin after probably 4 months of trying...
Curious Incident took me a good month or two, but then I won it again a week later... I only applied for the Saturday matinee because of the specific actor that was in it... which makes me wonder, are there rules about joining a lottery again after winning?
I remember reading that The Lion King you can only win and see the show once a year? Through the lottery, that is...

There are lotteries I've never won, even after years of entering. I'm also really unlucky when it comes to theatre lotteries.
I've entered myself and my husband in (almost) every Hamilton Chicago lottery since the show opened here, and I still haven't won anything yet ... which is definitely a record for me. (Granted the Hamilton lottery has got to be at least 100x harder to win than any other lottery that I've ever entered, so I can't say I'm that surprised.) My husband actually won it last night though ... and of course I got to go with him so I suppose that sort of counts as me winning!!

If I had the time and cared enough to look through your posts, I guarantee I could find DOZENS of ones where you're being rude and judgemental to posters so don't act like you're the sweetest person around. You're not even close to the worst but you're not in any position to call someone judgemental.
Oy. I never claimed to "an angel, just pointing out how ridiculous a few statements here are.
Sucks when someone else is right, doesn't it?
There have been times where I have entered out of habit and a coworker comes up to me and says something like, "Are you excited to stay late today for that client meeting?" or whatever.
It happens. Besides, if I was to win the lottery, but unable to make it to the show, I work across the street from the PrivateBank Theater. I would use the tickets as a treat to one of my employees who hasn't seen the show yet. No sweat off my back!

Won the Avenue Q and Young Frankenstein in person lotteries on first try when both were on Broadway.
I had been entering Something Rotten's digital lottery since it opened with no success - I finally gave up in October and just bought a ticket.
Not that it's a surprise, but I've entered myself, my wife, and my mother about 4 times a week to the Hamilton lottery since its off-Broadway days. So ~1200 attempts and zero wins so far.

Believe it or not, this is what happened. I work at a psychiatric hospital and all the male staff either called out or were on paid time off, so they called me to come in out of desperation.
But that's really neither here nor there.
I won the Wicked lottery on my first try, the A View From A Bridge on my third, and the Amelie lottery yesterday was around my fifth try. So I can't complain, but it is Los Angeles so maybe a little easier than New York.

I won that lottery and wish I had gotten a regular ticket... it was through Ticketmaster so I was able to select my own seats... I thought that the first row of orchestra would be a good idea, and it is if you are in the center... off to the sides not so much...
The stage is so raised up on the sides that you miss the entire bottom half of the performers, there are times when I didn't even know someone was on the stage... I don't even know what's the point of having seats like that, lottery or not...
I've been entering the Wicked lotto every day I could actually go since they started the online lottery and I finally won for tonight. I've also now been in every current Broadway theatre after tonight. Very excited.
Random question, but I entered the Falsettos lottery for all shows 1/6-1/8 since those are the days I will be in NYC. Today, I just got a notification that I won for the 1/5 show, even though I'm 99.9% sure I didn't enter for that date. My friend visiting with me entered for 1/6-1/8 as well, and got an e-mail today that he didn't win for the 1/5 show. The odds of us both accidentally entering the lottery for a day neither one of us will be there is kind of a long shot, so it seems maybe there's a glitch? Anyone experience this with a digital lottery before? I e-mailed them back to let them know, but not sure anyone is actually checking replies.

I also got the same thing for the Falsettos lottery today, as I didn't enter for that date but did enter for 1/6 and 1/7 - was wondering what happened but it must be a glitch!
