haha Patronus... I loved her too
I've only seen Kendra and Megan, and I adored them both, for different reasons.
Kendra seemed a bit more mature in act 1 than Megan, so her growth into act 2 was seamless. Megan was such a young Galinda, that HER change to Glinda was achingly poignant.
Kendra has perfect comic timing, but Megan easily has a much better upper register. She's also very funny, but in a different way. I laughed till I cried in both of their Populars!
I'm more of a book fan, so I'd probably go with Kendra, just because her Glinda was very much book Glinda.
I LOVED Megan Hilty!! Jen's acting was so funny, but there was something about her voice that i didnt like. Kristin on the other hand has an amazing voice, and was definately perfect to originate the role. But Megan was hysterical, and i LOVED HER! She is by far my favorite.

Ive only seen Kristin Chenoweth...and I love her!
Megan Hilty is by far the best in my opinion. Her comedic timing is amazing and she's constantly adding new things to her show that make it even funnier. And her performance in For Good is always so touching...the fact that she can cry on cue 8 times a week is amazing. And her voice...she hits notes way above JLT's register and above where Kristin would push herself. Can you tell I'm a huge fan?

Cheno, Cheno, Cheno! Because she is the Real McCoy, IYKWIM.
(With Billie Burke Ziegfeld (Glinda in the 1939 movie) in second place even though her singing was dubbed.)
(And Melissa Bell Chait in third because she's the only other person I've seen playing the role in Wicked.)

I've seen Kendra, Sara Jane, JLT, and Megan. My fav. is JLT with Megan, then Sara Jane, then Kendra
I've seen Kendra and Kate and I happen to LOVE Kendra! She helped make the show for me.
I've seen Emily Rosek, Kate Reinders, and JLT. I must say, Emily Rosek was the most affecting. Her Glinda made the biggest journey throughout the play (probably because she was an understudy and made every performance count) and her portrayal was the only one where I FELT the connection between Glinda and Elphaba, as well as the only performance where I could actually sit through FOR GOOD and not be bored out of my mind. JLT had the best voice, but she felt too confident in the role. Kate Reinders was a big dissapointment.

Katie Adams! I love the way she played the character. I've seen 6 Glinda's and didn't think anyone could play it differently than I had already seen it but she was amazing and played the charater with everything I thought she should be! I also LOVE Jen in the role! She was my very first Glinda and I adore her. Her comedic timing is perfection!

No one can ever beat Kristin. Megan Hilty is excellent as the girl in pink, but that role just belongs to Chenoweth.

Jennifer Laura Thomspon. Because she WASN'T just winking atthe audience and being cute...
Right because Thompson was busy playing G(a)linda as if she was retarded (no insult intended to truly retarded people).
You know, I hate to be mean, but I'm tired of Thompson compliments tied with Chenoweth insults.
You know, while some people probably saw both Kristin and JLT in the role, I bet the majority hasn't seen both of them to give a unbiased opinion, and basically are giving unfounded complaints.
Kristin is by FAR the BEST Galinda. She was just terrific - mannerisms, vocal quality, and comedic timing....and she was one hell of an audience. Yes, she did sometimes play to the audience. But Galinda is a BIG musical theatre comedic role. In traditional musical theatre, musicals were written and performed that way, so there is nothing wrong with doing that. She still gave a credible and moving performance. That's the difference between musical comedy and plays. So when people post that she just "winked" at the audience, that is a moot, and silly point to me.
Anyway, Megan Hilty comes in at a close second....she was very entertaining, and beautiful, and had a terrific voice....best since Kristin.
Cheers,

Attention Cheno Fans: Did you all hear she's in talks to host SNL?

It wasn't necessarily directed at Chenoweth alone, but both of the actresses I've seen beside Thompson have been so incredibly stagey and hammy, that they were not at all playing character, but simply exaggerated, ditzy versions of themselves. That's not acting. Thompson played a character and allowed THAT work for her as far as comedy goes, and her character was dynamic, not simply an actress going through motions.
Personally *I'm* tired of people equating stage presence and charm with acting ability. Itt's not the same thing.
Kristin...
I feel bad even answering this question because Cheno, JLT and Megan are all amazing.
I will say that I saw Megan last Saturday night with Saycon, and she was hilarious. I liked the show even more than the first time I saw it, and I think it had a lot to do with her performance. In my opinion, she is the most likable Glinda.

For me, it's a tie between Kristin Chenoweth and Megan Hilty.
Chenoweth owns that role, unfortunately i don't think anyone will ever be able to be as good as her in that role, i even know of actress on broadway that don't even want to go out for that role cause kristin perfected it.
Kristin IS G(a)linda...Why? Because she's too cute & too good not to be :)
Jennifer Laura Thompson was very good too!! Haven't seen Megan Hilty in person but I'd put Jennifer over Megan (from the clips I've seen).
Mindy Cohen (Natalie Green from "Facts of Life")
Megan Hilty.
She's so amazing and she brought a life to the role that I enjoyed. Her voice is perfect for the role, and she makes you totally leave the theatre saying "Wow." Her "Popular" is certainly the best out of all the Galindas.
Kristin has a better Act II, in my opinion.
Jennifer Laura Thompson.
Emily Rozek is VERY good as well.
