Wait, I’m not so sure. As per Ryan’s Instagram he’s in a musical in LA and it’s running through August 10. Maybe he left the show immediately after opening (which was a few nights ago), but that doesn’t seem likely. SchuylWERKsister, it’s the day of, care to enlighten us?

His opening night for his other musical was last night so I doubt its him. Could he mabye be hinting at the movie cast?

Hate to double post but the new Fieyro is Curt Hansen. I checked the cast list on broadway.com.

Weird. He’s been the understudy for years, but I thought the new Fiyero was new to the show? I’m totally okay with this, but seems weird.

Well, I would assume that Curt Hansen is taking over until Ryan McCartan is finished with his obligations in L.A.

My guess is he’s a temp until the new Fiyero comes in full time. He was the temporary principal when APA was injured too.

Sorry for the silence. I had to fact check. Apparently negotiations fell through with the person I was talking about. I have no idea about this casting. My apologies, this is the first time I’ve been somewhat incorrect with casting info.

Didn't want to start a new thread over this, but was at the 15th Anniversary Performance and was shocked to see how weak Amanda Jane Cooper was, especially next to Jessica Vosk.

Does anyone else who was there or has seen the show recently know if she is normally like this or if she was just having an off-night?

To my surprise, many of my friends have complained of this Wicked cast with the exception of Jessica. Was told it’s pretty low energy throughout the entire cast, with an emphasis with Amanda Jane Cooper.

I was there last night, too, and thought the exact same thing.

Saw Amanda on tour and loved her, but have seen her a few times on Broadway and have not been impressed at all. She’s not necessarily bad but just doesn’t leave an impression at all. A very underwhelming performance. Not sure what happened between tour and Broadway.

I think Vosk and Cooper did a little mini speech just thanking everyone/talking about the lasting impact of wicked

My thoughts on the current cast:

AJC was amazing with Jackie burns, but ever since I saw her with vosk shes been eh. I feel like the chemistry is just not there.

Ryan is an okay fieryro. Kristen and Jye are just there, if that makes sense. Their performances just scream tired.

Vosk is the saving ship of this cast. I feel like the curtain cast is just like its a job! Coming in for the pay check

Cooper (who I saw on tour and LOVED) seems to be out a lot, based on social media posts. Maybe she’s dealing with some health issues?

She was out like four days ago, and the standby was on but she got a bad migrane so lindsey northern had to do a glinda switch in time for dancing through life. Pretty cool.

Re AJC being sick, She seemed sick on yesterdays performance she wasnt as peppy based on a video I saw

Sorry to double post, and obviously I don't know her, but I have to imagine she's exhausted. She's been on Broadway since July 2017 (?) which seems like an incredibly long run. I wouldn't be surprised if Ginna Claire Mason comes to Broadway soon.

Through unexpected circumstances I saw the show 2 weeks ago and also last night. It was a night and day difference. 2 weeks ago AJC and cast seemed just going through the motions. AJC was rushing her lines, she can’t execute the opening number well (still can’t), and her comedic timing was very flat/off. Chaulked it up to an off day but still disappointing since I was with a relative whose first trip it was to Oz.

Last night you could tell the cast was putting every ounce of energy they had into that performance. AJC still wasn’t great, but better. Seems they need to rotate in another Glinda soon. Vosk is wonderful and brought the house down several times but probably my least favorite Elphaba I’ve seen.

Wicked is my comfort show. I have seen tons of casts, and this is by far one of the weakest casts. While Vosk is great vocally, her acting falls flat. AJC isn't up to par like she used to be. Kevin chamberlin is by far one of my favorite wizards 10/10. Kristen and Jey are tired in their roles, and you can tell. It just saddens me, in an interview (I believe show people) Alex brightman said how the cast just went through the motions and just did the show when he was in it. I feel like this cast is doing the same.

I also wouldn't want ginna clarie to come back to broadway. I love her glinda, but the next glinda needs to be fresh blood.
