The new of RENT. Just...WHY.

The new Rent one IS pretty horrible.
However, I don't know that I've seen enough to say that it's the worst.

Yeah, the current Rent one is pathetic. I don't know how else to describe it.
I don't know why they ever ditched the original artwork. It was perfect.

I don't know what is the worst, in my opinion probably the new RENT one, but my favorites are Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Color Purple!

Heh, I was going to say the new Rent one as well. If only the producers would realize how ugly it is too.

I don't care for the Sweeney Todd revival logo all that much. It looks good on the Playbill, but not so much on the windowcard or advertisements.

can someone either post the new rent poster or post a link?
(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

The new Rent posters make the Footloose advertisements look aesthetically pleasing.

The Odd Couple poster has the WORST design layout I have ever seen. The little box is totally unneccessary and just repeats information. I own it because I loved the show and wanted a souvenir, but ICK!

the absurd person singular poster was kinda sh*tty, and steel pier was nice but misleading.

I agree with Steel Pier / Absurd Personal Singluar / I don't much care for the Zombie Prom layout.
I actually really like the RENT poster. Its def. trying to appeal to the Myspace generation and I think it works. I actually really want to buy that poster if anyone knows how?
As for ones I like, I really like the I Love You Because poster...its very simple, but it works.
Oh, and I don't like the Color Purple one that much, though it doesn't bother me too much. And I don't like the Sweeny one either, I think this show should have had a much simplier logo considering the simplistic nature of the show.

"No two shows are alike in the making. Each show is a living
piece of your life in a small unreal world with its own character
and integrity; its own new set of memorable experiences and
incredible happenings. You begin to love and adapt to its strangeness.
Dreams harden into substance. Values come into focus. You wish
it would never end. The dream world vanishes like mist before a
rising sun; part of you vanishes with it. And back you land in the
real world with a thud- fogged, uneasy, jittery, difficult to get
along with. There is only one cure. A new show. A new, small
unreal world; new visions, experiences, incredible happenings.
Again you love it, adapt to it, wish it would never end.
But end it does. Another part of you vanishes.
That's show business."-Anonymous
