AfterEight, the reason I think "An Ordinary Couple" has a silly premise is that he's filthy rich. That's not very ordinary. However, it's not as bad as if Donald Trump were to sing it to Melania.

Audrey, the Phantom Phanatic, who nonetheless would rather be Jean Valjean, who knew how to make lemonade out of lemons.

I was going to mention Another Pyramid but it slipped my mind! I like Aida but Elton can sure write some clunkers despite all his talent (Tim Rice as well).
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
I wouldn't call them 'the worst songs ever written' because I'd have to do an extensive research and relisten to every single song I dislike/hate, but after watching a regional production of 9 to 5 I remembered how terrible Here For You and Let Love Grow are.
Oh my, I seem to be on the flip side of many things on this thread. Morning Report is one of favorite songs (in The Lion King, not overall, oh gosh no [the best song in The Lion King is worse than the worst Sondheim]) and I am quite sad they cut it.
I appoligise for any spelling mistakes. I may be on my mobile. Clumsy fingers and small little touchscreen keys don't mixx. I try to spellcheck, but I may miss something.
"Get in the Game" from Allegiance. I saw the show three times and cringed whenever that song was performed.
"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." Thomas, Venus in Fur
But since I was hurt once when someone said they hated "Do What You Gotta Do" by Nina Simone-a song I thought she sang with such emotion and sensitivity, I have to say I respect others who find the song Angel of Music beautiful.
Surprised to see so much hate for "The Private And Intimate Life of the House" I actually love that song. Sure it's no "Some Enchanted Evening" but its appropriate and I enjoy listening to it.
I like Little Lamb, but I like it best when the actress is clearly a little older than fourteen. The ambiguity of how old these kids really are, and how long Rose has been keeping them deluded, borders on horror in a way that reminds me of the all-too-classy themes horror and thriller films used to have in the seventies and eighties (like the ones our own BK recorded on his album of classic horror themes).
After Eight, we've agreed sometimes and locked horns sometimes, but today you remind me of the book I'm reading right now, "The Secret History," by Donna Tartt. In the novel, a small enclave of college students operates willfully in the past, living, speaking, dressing and thinking as if it were 1926 instead of 2016.
Yeah a lot of these songs amount to disappointing. For worst ever, you gotta look at the truly inept, which is what I call Andrew Lippa's body of work.

Maybe they also wish for the musicals of 1926 instead of those of 2016. I know I do.
As for the subject of this thread, you can add No Life to the list.

did you mean No Lies from The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas?

Apropos of nothing, that's one of my favorite books, and one of the few I've read more than once.
Mr. Nowack said: "E. riley I wonder if we saw the same community BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE haha.
I had forgotten about "Broads Ain't People," that actually may be my true pick.
I just saw this post. Was it in CT Mr. Nowack ?? It is the worst ! I second the nomination of "Broads Ain't People."
It would have been unendurable had I not superimposed (mentally) some of the cast I was seeing with Parker Posey and Catharine O'hara's faces (ala Waiting for Guffman) . This got me through it.
My daughter is 16 and turned to me at the point where all the sad young whore's ( her young friend was playing one in the show : / ) had to leave 'cuz the brothel was closing and all. She said " Oh Mom ...the poor girls don't get to be sex slaves anymore!!"
ps- my problem isn't the subject. It was simply the worst written piece of crap of ever seen and that includes Middle School productions written by the kids.
I don't remember the name if the last song but it was the Madam with a heart of gold and big hair roaming around but belting something about goin' on ? ? Sad but strong ? I think it had the words tomorrow in it but honestly I was half asleep. I remember being shocked that the end was an end. Not in a theatrical good way but in a "that's the end?" abrupt "this is strange "way. The sad whores were roaming around with suitcases.
It didn't help that we had gone in to the city the night before and were mesmerized and transported by American Psycho. Which (critics and Tony's be damned) was amazing.

This is exactly why I like Little Lamb. It's a pretty boring song until its tragic ending, when you realize that Rose is depriving her kids of so much. That said, I've seen the song directed the wrong way so many times (completely ignoring its darkness) and that's likely a big reason for its awful reputation.
