My first show was "Purlie" when I was around 10 or 11. Saw it at the Shubert Theatre in Philadelphia.
The first show I was in was in the 7th grade. I played Lou Martin in "Up the Down Staircase". My school was 7th thru 12th grades and you were not supposed to audition for the Senior Play until you were in 9th grade. It was a big deal because I was the 1st 7th grader to be in the Senior Play. I was hooked on all aspects of the theatre after I did that play.
The first show I saw(or at least I think it was first cuz I saw alot in the same year) was Caberet in N.Y. We came back from a cruise and I had the option to see Smokey Joe's Cafe or Miss Saigon (which I love now) but at the time I was like 8 or sumthin so I knew nothing about theatre except Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera and Caberet. So like our Cd's got stolen on the cruise and I had the Caberet Cd so we went into Studio 54 to buy the Cd at intermission and the ushers thought I was cute and let me meet the cast backstage and I saw the end of act 1.
First being in - I was in Northbrook Children's Theatre (where I still currently am but will be done in late 2005) and it was a circus play or sumthin and I was the human canonball so I had to go down the cannon and run to the other end of the stage so it was fun.

Seeing- Les Miz when I was like 9 or 10. Got me hooked from the start, and to this day, Les Miz is still my favorite show ever.
Being in- Annie Jr. in 5th grade. I was an orphan. REALLY kicked my love of performing onstage and the thrill it gives you. And to this day, Annie is my LEAST favorite show... lol.
-If you don't like your fate, change it. You are your own master.- Aida
Seeing one... Annie performed at the Westbury Music Fair when I was around 10, I was hooked.
Being in one... Because I was on the lighting crew, no matter how well I sung, I couldn't make the shows, but I remember Brigadoon, Music Man and Kiss Me Kate well. My first role though was as Mrs. Rose, an old Jewish woman from Brooklyn in Hello Dolly. It was in HS and I had a blast.
The first show I saw was Phantom of The Opera in the West End, when I was 12. I went with a school trip and I thought it was just AMAZING! I absolutely loved it and it has become one of my favourite shows of all time. First show I was in?... When I was 4 I was rudolph the red-nosed reindeer in my school nativity play...

First show was Les Miserables - when I was 5 - it got me interested in theatre
When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere
FIrst Show I Saw: A Christmas Carol at the ACT in SF for a 4th grade field trip. My mom signed up to help with the class. It was her first show as well. Many, many years later my mom and I went back to the ACT to see it again. It was the last show we saw together. But I did get to take her to many shows in between.
As for being in a show. I am unfortunately a triple threat. Can't act, can't dance, can't sing.

My mom took me to see a touring production of Cats when I was four. I totally loved the whole thing and can still remember one of the cats running down the aisle after the show and shaking my hand.
Seeing - Dinner theatre version of "Jacques Brel..." - I was 11... Touring company of Grease in Philadelphia when I was 13. First Broadway show was "Annie" way back in 1978 with the amazing Dorothy Loudon..
In one - Middle school - I played Dr. Einstein in "Arsenic & Old Lace"
first real Broadway show: "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" with Kristin
Being in one:
well, various talent shows and what not kindergarten thru sixth grade highlighted by a dual part as a munchkin/winged monkey with one line....and then I took a 20 year hiatus and starting acting again with the part of Peter Kershaw in "Whose Life is it Anyway?"
Seeing one - I'm not sure, I remember going to see The Wizard of Oz in community theatre when I was about 5. There was a production of Annie around the same time, but I'm not sure if it was before or after.
First on Broadway - The OBC of Wicked, on my very first trip to New York at the age of 25.
Being in one - I was 7 and played The 3rd Block in The Velveteen Rabbit in the same community theatre. I had three lines and was very proud to be able to say, "That means that we teach by the most modern educational methods."
Seeing one: Seeing RENT for the first time....I was in the 3rd row, and was in total AWE, and that was just the tour! I had seen other shows before, but this one just floored me...my love for the theater was born!
Being in one: Probably the most memorable was being cast in my first lead. Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing.....my senior year of high school. Wow...that applause was ALL for me! And they were hooting and hollering. It created a monster.
Seeing One: Well, back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, I watched a rehearsal of Cheaper by the Dozen with my mom in it. Nothing really exciting, because I was only seven at the time.
Being in One: Sadly , my first time on stage was forced. So they picked me because I was the only one left. But I did have fun with it anyway.
My first time seeing a Broadway show was the national tour of Beauty and The Beast at the Kennedy Center when I was 12.
The first show I was in was our middle school production of The Secret Garden. I was one of the servants, although I did have a solo in one song.
