O thank goodness. And it sounds like he doesn't want to do anymore musicals. Again, thank goodness. Now if he'd only give up acting completely... Efron Backs Out
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I would have liked to see him sing and dance again.
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
Aw, man, I've never liked Zac Efron at all, but I really thought this project was the perfect role for him-- a much better role than the ones he's done before. I was actually looking forward to this.
In my pants, she has burst like the music of angels, the light of the sun! --Marius Pantsmercy
Well after seeing the commercials for 17 AGAIN, It's clear he can do anything, (but act). He ain't no Tab Hunter. Why doesn't he just do porn and get it over with?
I hope Zac has something really big to replace it.
If not, his name will be mud in this town.

“I hesitate to give this line of discussion the validation it so desperately craves by perpetuating it, but the light from logic is getting further and further away with your every successive post.” <<>>

But in all seriousness.. I am seeing the end of his career in the near futurue.. He should stick with what made him popular to begin with, stick with his roots.. it is great to set goals, and try to achieve them... but in times such as these he should keep what is given to him and not take it for granted! Many have lost a career because they got greedy. Updated On: 3/23/09 at 09:44 PM
Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).
"He should stick with what made him popular to begin with, stick with his roots.."
I'm not sure I agree. I don't think Efron is very good, but I'm open to being surprised. If he did something really out-of-the-box, like a mentally challenged character or something, and does it well, he could really gain some credibility.
Check it out. Dustin Hoffman, 'Rain Man,' look retarded, act retarded, not retarded. Counted toothpicks, cheated cards. Autistic, sho'. Not retarded. You know Tom Hanks, 'Forrest Gump.' Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded. Peter Sellers, "Being There." Infantile, yes. Retarded, no. You went full retard, man. Never go full retard. You don't buy that? Ask Sean Penn, 2001, "I Am Sam." Remember? Went full retard, went home empty handed...

TheActr97J- Bahahaha! Stems from fact though, doesn't it? I must say Leonardo Di Caprio won me over in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" as did Adrian Brody in "The Village."
Who would everyone like to see replace him? Not who you think they will pick, if they continue with the remake, but who would you like to see in the role?
