This news makes me incredibly sad. Ms. Wasserstein is a gifted playwright and an important voice for women of her generation . Above all she is a very special person. I can only imagine how deeply affected everyone at Spelling Bee is since it was Ms. Wasserstein, who because of having Sarah Saltzberg in her employ as nanny, went to see a show called C-R-E-P-U-S-C-U-L-E- and immediately fell in love with this improvisational gem-- Wendy called her best friend William Finn to see what she thought had the makings of an extraordinary musical---and the rest is Broadway history!!!! She is The Bee's guardian angel--
Let's all pray for a return to good health for Ms. Wasserstein who is loved, respected and appreciated.....
