Hey guys! Just wondering what some of you found at Flea Market in the past years (and the prices)? Also, what is the autograph table and photo booth like? This year will be my first year and I am so excited! Cannot wait for them to announce who will be there! Thanks!
I've never done the autograph/photo booth, but it always looked like a madhouse to me (more than the rest of the market, that is). My three favorite finds from last year were a yellow (M)oron Sunglasses signed by Alex Brightman (~$30), Toby Belch's resumé from Something Rotten!, signed by Christian Borle ($10), and a harmonica from the opening night performance of The Color Purple.
Also, I have my own question -- anyone know if Great Comet or Groundhog Day will have booths despite their closing? I know that Les Misérables did last year, but I'm not sure if that's common practice.
I think it depends on when a show closes. Actually, last year I think there was 1 table last year that was selling merchandise from shows that just closed. I don't think it is very common or should be an expectation every year.

It was next to the Mormon table last year, right? With Newsies and Les Miz posters among the stuff? I agree; I don't think that's super common. Though it was pretty convenient.

I could've sworn there was more than just window cards for Les Mis, though I know they had quite a few items on the online auction, so maybe I'm thinking of that?
I figured at least Comet would have some stuff, considering it's such a prop-heavy production—maybe some leftover egg shakers and things like that?
EDIT: just looked at the BCEFA website because this was bugging me, found this written on the site:
"A special table, dubbed Act III, featured items from recently closed shows, including The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Finding Neverland, Fun Home, Les Misérables and Shuffle Along…. The Act III table raised $12,334."
Hopefully they'll do something like that again this year with stuff from GHD, TGC, and Bandstand.

That's right. I wasn't sure which shows had that table until this post. I remember they were trying to get rid of signed Finding Neverland window cards for $5 last year. So, maybe if there is a bunch of stuff like that, it could happen again. It also doesn't hurt to just check random tables. Like I got a Squigs drawing from Disaster! that was not from that table and obviously there was no table for Disaster!.

I went last year for the first time and this was my haul (I might be off with the prices):
- 3x tshirts (Annie, Grease and Fiddler) for $5 each
- Hedwig tshirt (limited cast and crew shirt) - $20
- 3x CDs (Jekyll & Hyde; Priscilla and Wonderland) - $2 each
- Annie metal water bottle, Hair fold up bag, Romeo & Juliet pen, Last Ship postcards and a baseball (can't remember the show) - FREE with my purchase of the above items
- Large bag/satchel (a proper, sturdy bag not just a cheap tote) with show logos printed on it - $15
Cash is the name of the game at the Flea Market for sure. They do have a table where they can give receipts for larger purchases done on credit card, but I always just stick with cash.
Cash is best, and bring smaller bills. Correct change is much appreciated. But they will have a credit card booth to make payments and then take back to the booth selling.
Went last year for the first time and found a treasure trove of collectibles.
my mission was to find an off-Broadway Hamilton window card and lo and behold the public theater table was selling them in mint condition! Was hoping to find an off Broadway playbill but never found one!
The Hamilton table had great stuff and I picked up a limited edition Hamilton opening night gold coin and had a nice conversation with Javier Munoz who was very classy and took the time with everybody that wanted to speak with him. He also took pictures with people for $20 for charity.
Having heard nothing about dear Evan Hansen at the time as it had not yet opened on Broadway I was lucky enough to pick up some promotional notebooks for $10 apiece which and honesty I have not seen listed anywhere so I presume they are rare. Planning on going back this year to see the show and hopefully they will have more collectibles such a signed play bills and window cards which I will happily buy if available.
There was a color purple table with loads of autographed memorabilia play bills and window cards and a wicked table with very outrageously priced Idina Menzel autographed items! $300 for a signed LP if I recall which didn't sell by end of day.....
At the end of the day many of their collectibles went down in price considerably but one has to make sure that they don't miss out on something they really want or else it could be gone!
The earlier one goes the better as the tables get so crowded in the afternoon.
Will be back again this year and good luck to all!
If anybody has a wish list and that cannot go this year please let me know and I'll certainly look out for you!

I used to get more random stuff but I don't have a lot of room for a lot of memorabilia right now so last year I stuck to more practical things... Playbills ($1-$5), mugs and show cups, T-shirts from random shows. Hopefully there will be some better finds this year.
Of my favorite finds last year were original Playbills for Bells Are Ringing, The Apple Tree, and The Most Happy Fella. And a Playbill from the Nine revival.
This year I'm on the hunt for a red egg shaker from Great Comet, more cheap T-shirts, and some show cups. Other than that, I'm excited to see what's available. I feel like it's easier to just go ready to hunt for something special than to try and predict what different show tables will have. I wouldn't mind getting stuff from Anastasia, Great Comet, War Paint, and Waitress. I remember Allegiance was at the flea before they opened but I can't imagine any of the other upcoming shows doing that this season. Maybe Once On This Island.
Not sure if anyone would take me up on this, but I can't make it to NYC for the flea market and I was wondering if someone who was going could pick something up for me? I'd PayPal you the money beforehand to buy it and ship it. I know it's asking a lot but I was hoping some kind soul would be willing to help. I'd throw in a little extra for the hassle
One of the more interesting things I saw last year was that Jennifer Laura Thompson has created Dear Evan Hansen themed jewelry. She was at the DEH table a good portion of the day chatting with people, taking pictures and selling her jewelry (she had it hanging from a little display tree). Also, the Kinky Boots table has been set up near the end of the street closest to the Hirschfield the last few years, and a lot of the cast hangs out at that table until they have to go over for the show
I can't remember all the crap I bought last year, but I remember there was the Actors' Fund table and Jenna Leigh Green was there. I didn't recognize it was her at first and then I saw a promo photo of her as Libby Chessler in SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH (which was a cornerstone of my youth).
I looked up and she was selling photos with her for $5. I only had $2 left, but she accepted it and was such a friggin' sweetheart. Also, standing next to her, the first words of her mouth were "Damn, you're tall!" (I'm a foot and a half taller than her).
That was an awesome moment

Flea Market and the weekend of which it happens is one of my favorites of the year. I make a weekend of it and see shows and spend time with friends and then we all get up early on Flea Market Sunday and head down together.
Over the past few years, I've found I've been spending less - last year I had money left over, but I still got plenty of things I wanted. I definitely feel like in recent the pickins have been a bit slim overall, but doesn't mean there's not some real gems. Last year, I got the Les Mis poster with the Marius/Enjolras artwork that I love and I talked down the person at the Dear Evan Hansen table on the tote bag they had - taking it down to $10 from $20. It's also great because a lot of the show tables will do fun little things like group photos [a bunch of friends of mine and I did one with the kids of School of Rock last year] or one year at the Les Mis table they did karaoke and had Andrew Kober doing his infamous 15 second Instagram Interviews with people. So, it's overall a wonderful day just to be there and take it all in, plus those end of day deals can be EVERYTHING.
