ErmengardeStopSniveling said: "Yup, but the difference here when comparing to the above is that SIX is –– arguably –– more artful and has more financial potential (because of its small size), AND A Strange Loop is more niche than any of the titles above. This is not a typical year when comparing to the past. Producers still make up more than 40% of the total voters, which is a largely white and male group of people."

Was just wondering what aspects of SIX you deem “more artful” than ASL?

I do think it's a bit silly that she'd be winning basically just for sticking her name on the show, rather than winning for something that she actually put her own creative talents into. But an EGOT is an EGOT!

I believe that’s how John Legend* has a Tony, via producing.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

You mean John Legend? Then yes, he got the T in his EGOT by winning a Tony as a co-producer on the 2017 Broadway production of Jitney.

Previews begin Thurs, April 14, because of COVID cases.

Also because of that, I doubt they'll do an invited dress tonight?

They’re fine on time. They don’t need a protracted preview period.

If this was a world premiere like Flying Over Sunset then I understand the need for a 4 week preview period.
However A Strange Loop won the Pulitzer from its 2019 off-Bway run so I’d presume this preview period is mainly for tech and the actors to get used to the Lyceum theater and get their bearings.

Going to be at the show tonight! SOOO EXCITED!

** Also this musical is one of only TEN to win the Pulitzer Prize since 1932. The fact that most of you on this thread are dismissive of the power this musical will have is INSANE **

Sorry if someone's asked this already, but does anyone know the approximate runtime for this? Is it a one- or two-act show?

Approximately 100 minutes. No intermission.

I’m here! I’m here! Free goodie bag. They opened early due to the rain and wind. I’m in the orchestra Row D seat 2-wave or say hello! I’m alone. Will also be here Saturday matinee.

''You mean John Legend? Then yes, he got the T in his EGOT by winning a Tony as a co-producer on the 2017 Broadway production of Jitney.''

That's how Whoopi Goldberg got the Tony for her EGOT, too. Not as a performer on the Great White Way, but as a producer of ''Thoroughly Modern Millie.''

I saw this at Playwrights and loooooooooved it. If you could wear out a cast album by streaming it on Spotify, I did just that.

BUT, is it worth seeing again on Broadway? Is Jaquel giving an absolutely must see, can’t miss performance? I don’t believe there were any drastic changes from Playwrights to now, but I could be wrong?

Also were they selling window cards? angel
