Can someone explain why Green said Cole Escola should have been nominated? I mean, I totally agree, but "Oh, Mary!" hasn't even moved to Broadway yet. Was it just a shout out?

Here you are, once again, showing your racist comments! Hell's Kitchen has gotten nothing but praise from audiences and critics alike. Why do you have a problem with this show?
"

Yes, Flash is annoying as all get out...but there is nothing racist about her comment, here.  And, I'm sorry, there has been a lot of criticism for this show, particularly over the book.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I was referencing the racist comments Flash made a couple of weeks ago about Hell's Kitchen that have since been removed.

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

Yes, I know, that's why I said there was nothing racist in this post.

The "should have been" have often given included off Bway stuff, I suppose you could say as a shout out.

Gelb would be my choice, but I don’t think it’s egregious to have another Stereophonic actor as his favorite. Like he said, they’re all deserving.

Last time a musical won Score and Book but lost Best Musical was Chaperone? Also for a jukebox nominated for Best Book but that didn't win that. I think ''Suffs'' takes it all. Or maybe ''The Outsiders''.

At this point, I think ''Hell's Kitchen'' being a jukebox is so hard for me to believe a win and I just can't see ''Illinoise'' winning when it's clear that enough people doesn't even think it's a musical.

As of now, I also believe ''Merrily'' will likely take 3 acting awards. Too much? Can Kecia upset? Cuz I'm starting to doubt that Bebe can.

Can ''Cabaret'' win anything? Maybe scenic design or will the award the other reformed theater ''Here Lies Love''?

He was directed to put different things for "will" and "should" in almost every category? Seems like it will be a frustrating ceremony for him if he really thinks the 95% of the winners are undeserving...

Green didn’t say any of his predicted winners are undeserving. He explicitly said his personal favorites are not necessarily more deserving and that there’s often little if any gap in quality between his predictions and preferences.

Sure, but what's to get pissy with over that?

There’s nothing to get pissy over but there was something to correct. If that read as getting pissy, sorry, it wasn’t my intention.

With how often award show discussions devolve into tearing down your favorites’ competition, I’ll give Green credit for pushing back on that a bit. The takeaway from that article shouldn’t be that he thinks most of the winners will be undeserving when he stressed that he felt otherwise.

Within the past 2 weeks, Kecia Lewis has won the Lortel and the Outer Critics awards for this performance, so she has a momentum right now that Lindsay just doesn't have. I think they're both deserving, but I would vote for Kecia, and I think she'll win.

No, not you, those whining about Green. If they actually read it/understood the purpose of the article, THEY'D have nothing to clutch their pearls over. You are fine, in trying to explain it to them

Sorry for the confusion.

Anybody else think Kelli's gonna win Best Actress? The OCC win bodes well, and I could also see her picking up the Drama League (they've been opting for celebrated Broadway stars recently even-Sutton, Annaleigh, Danny) giving her even more momentum. Know the show is closed but feels like this strange year could work in her favor.  I know Maleah has a great shot too but I wonder if they'll just reward Hell's Kitchen in Featured Actress.

Who do we think will win sound design of a musical and orchestrations? The former should be between Here Lies Love and Merrily, while orchestrations is pretty much a three-horse race between IllinoiseStereophonic, and Merrily.

Can't say I disagree with much of what Mr. Green said regarding his picks. I love that he gave a "shot out" to Corey Cott saying he should have been nominated for "Heart Of Rock And Roll".
"

I agree. I wish Corey Cott was nominated as well.  Had Green reviewed Heart of Rock n Roll, he would have praised Cott's performance.
