We have a church youth group that really enjoys doing musicals; we're doing one every other year, and this coming year is the off year. Instead of a show, I'm wondering about doing a revue in the context of worship. What are some songs with themes of justice, love (non-romantic), community, the triumph of good, or anything else that might be intriguing for the kids to explore in a church environment? The church is super open-minded, so we don't have to stick to the "God shows". Thanks!

“No One Is Alone” and “Children Will Listen” sound like solid choices.
The latter may be haunting for churchgoing adults to hear from a group of children and might spark some discussion and deep thought

Shoutout to the people who actually gave serious answers to what I read as a very earnest question, instead of just being a smarta**. This sounds like a wonderful church! (Christian theatre artist here)
I would also include "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen.

Lots of the songs from The Spitfire Grill have a "churchy" or folksy feel to them (which makes sense since the movie that inspired it was faith-based) "Come Alive Again" is a favorite of mine, and although there's some mild profanity in the snippets of dialogue within it that could easily be cut or reworked.

Seconded. The song works on so many different levels. My favorite performance was at a gay wedding. In a church. Surrounded by supportive friends and family. Everyone there felt the song spoke directly to them.
