Cool story in the local paper about Katie Clark. I had no idea she was from Houston.

oh my god, i'm crying!
good for her. i can't wait to see her!
A true Cinderella story, and thank goodness for she seems to really live up to the standard put on the role. Wow.
I look forward to seeing Katie in the show in January. What a great story.

Thanks Cruel_Sandwich. I can't wait to see what Katie brings to the role. I think her mother's advice of not forgetting where you came from is key in this business.
it's a cliche! it's not like she made that up "Never forget where you came from" is like the oldest quote! come on...LOL.Anyhow...yes...it is a moving story...but no way i am crying!
OMG! WOW.
i am SO EXCITED to see her on saturday!!! YAAAY!
That's the perfect kind of Fairy Tale story that Broadway is known for! watch, in 50 years when she's a legend, we'll all know how she got her start. can't wait to see her!

Muscle---I did not comment that "not forgetting where you came from" was new or novel. The best advice never is.
What a lovely story. I wish her the best.
Incidentally, I'll be interested to read interviews with her a year from now. After all, it's easy not to forget where you came from when you only came from there, like, three weeks ago.

Not to take anything away from Katie because this is such an incredible time in her life...but these little stories exist quite a lot in the Broadway community...perhaps not quite as high profile since this is the greatest show in a long time...but still...there are lots of great "Cinderella" stories. I am looking forward to catching her in the show. It is my favorite show in years.
