In many if not in all broadway shows there are songs that really send a meaningful message to you. Which song do you think has the most meaningufl message and why?
Mine is Til We Reach That Day from Ragtime because it still relates to today's world about how America is not as great as it can be and how not everyone is accepting.
<------ Me and my friends with patti Lupone at my friends afterparty for her concert with audra mcdonald during the summer of 2007.
"I am sorry but it is an unjust world and virtue is only triumphant in theatricle performances" The Mikado
I always tend to say "Forget regret or life is yours to miss", I'm a scaredy cat with nerves of jello, so I always tend to miss out, but I never regret it because I know I will dwell on it and miss the next opportunity
What good is a life,
With no one to share,
The light of the moon,
The honor of a swear?
Move On is a great choice and not to get off topic I love the avatar chrysanthemum

Ain't It Good - Children of Eden "We've lived so long in dark I'm almost frightened to believe, those clearing skies on that glistening horizon; please tell me my eyes do not deceive me.
Ain't it good, to smell the morning in a world washed fresh and clean? Now the storm has left its warning and we see a hint of green..."
I am Changing - Dreamgirls "Look at me... I am changing, trying every way I can I am changing I'll be better then I am I'm trying to find a way To understand, but I need you... I need a hand..."
I'm Not Afaid of Anything - Songs for a New World
"I'm not afraid of anyone not a soul can get behind this wall so let them call and watch them fall cos afterall I'm not afraid..."
I am what I am - La Cage "I am what I am..."
"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending.
The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."
Heh, I put up a bunch of these quotes around my dorm room. I'll add a couple:
My personal favorite:
"There's a face that we wear in the cold light of day, it's society's mask, it's societies, way and the truth is that it's all a facade...look behind the facade."-Jekyll & Hyde
My second favorite:
"Life's not worth a damn till you can say hey world I am what I am!"-La Cage
"You'll Never Walk Alone"(along w/ pretty much the rest of the song)-Carousel
"No One Is Alone"-Into The Woods
I kinda added something to make it make sense as a quote but:
"[We all need] to dream the impossible dream"-Man of La Mancha
And lots from Rent obviously, but this one I find I quote in a LOT of situations: "You'll never share real love until you love yourself"
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
"No Time At All" from Pippin is a song I've often turned to.
"Oh, it's time to start livin' Time to take a little from this world we're given Time to take time, cause spring will turn to fall - In just no time at all!"
Avatar - Isaac, my blue-fronted Amazon parrot. Adopted 9/7/07. Age 30 (my pet is older than me!)
Hugs to Jon for my favorite line from Les Miserables
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."
Conan O'Brien
Christmas Lullaby from Songs for a New World No One is Alone from Into the Woods
The Christmas Lullaby shows a girl's confidence in a Mary and how she will be an example to the world. I find that very inspiring and I can associate with that song.
No One is alone reminds us of just that. No matter what happens someone will be there. There is so much truth in that.
By the way I love posts like this! They make you think.
A Little Priest - I mean, I'd always struggled with my cannabalism, but this song showed me that it is ok to like trying all those delicious flavours of people...
"To love another person is to see the face of God"
"Everything in life is only for now"
"You've gotta go after the things you want while you're still in your prime"
"How can you leave the past behind when it keeps finding ways to get to your heart? It reaches way down deep and tears you inside out till you're torn apart"
"No day but today"
"Don't dream it, be it"
"Life is really up to you, you must choose what to persue. Set your mind on what to find and there's nothing you can't do"
"Love is worth forgiving for, now I realize everything worth living for is there in his eyes"
"I can't regret what I did for love"
"You're every gay man's wet dream!" ~ MA
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
Its not from a song...but the quote from The Music Man that is in my signature has always been a favorite of mine.
"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays. I don't know about you, but I'd like to make today worth remembering." --Harold Hill from The Music Man
<--- the set of A Midsummer Night's Dream that I was assistant stage manager for during the 2007 season at the STNJ outdoor stage.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree. ~Dirty Rotten Scoundrels~
There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel. ~Curtains~
It is a far, far better thing I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to, than I have ever known. ~A Tale of Two Cities ~
