I wonder what happened. In an interview just a couple of weeks ago, Carolee talked about how much she was looking forward to that stop because they were there for six weeks.
WHAT. THE. F***?!?! I was so looking forward to that!

So upset about this. Was really looking forward to it, and I bought extra tickets as holiday gifts. Awesome. “Scheduling conflicts” they say
what scheduling conflict? It was set to close in Toronto. So it's closing now on March 22 in Rochester instead of May 3 in Toronto. That sucks!

The website still has Schenectedy listed. For the first week or so in May. Im hoping they are goin somewhere else for those 6 weeks as Buffalo and Rochester only have seats very far back and I really want to see Carolee. If only they announced when they found out and not after finding another show.
My guess is Scott Rudin found oit the Mirvishes love to admit latecomers all thru the show AND serve popcorn!
Do we have a full timeline yet for January 2020 announcements? Maybe it’s too early for February thru May?

I'd keep an eye on this page. It seems to be updated regularly

All I know via casting is JCS tour is going out for another year, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is going out non-union, and Chicago is going out non-Union.

I only know of a few dates in January so far, but I suspect a lot of the same venues that typically announce in January will do the same this year. I'm also sure that we'll start to hear more as soon as the new year arrives. For now, here's what I've been told:
-Baltimore: January 14
-Las Vegas: January 27
-Fort Lauderdale: mid-January
-Miami: mid-January
-Tulsa: late-January/early-February
-Detroit: early February (someone mentioned on here January, but my contact there says otherwise. Perhaps they're telling me later since they kept delaying it last year?)
-Minneapolis: early February
-Tempe: March 16
-----
This was the 19/20 January schedule for reference:
Jan 11: Fort Lauderdale
Jan 17: Baltimore
Jan 22: New Orleans
Jan 23: Tulsa, Houston (TUTS)
Jan 24: Indianapolis
Jan 25: Miami, South Bend
Jan 28: San Jose
Jan 29: Thousand Oaks, Las Vegas
Jan 31: Minneapolis
And here was the order from the 18/19 season:
Jan 4: Seattle
Jan 13: Dallas (DSM)
Jan 14: Kansas City
Jan 17: Baltimore
Jan 23: Phoenix
Jan 24: San Diego
Jan 26: Fort Lauderdale
Jan 29: West Palm Beach
Jan 30: New Orleans, Los Angeles (Pantages)
January's traditionally a slower month, but it typically includes major venues. I'm definitely excited to see what's going to happen in the next few weeks!
^ ^ ^ VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!! Exactly what I was looking for. The only one I remembered (or knew for sure) was Baltimore as they’re my go-to city (along with Cleveland) when Pittsburgh doesn't get a certain show I’m looking for. Pittsburgh usually announces around mid-March.

Yeah, Detroit is very sporadic on when they announce their season. The email that got sent to subscribers said January, so fingers crossed I guess. I hope they announce in January with a decent season. The past couple haven’t been the best.

To be fair... a vast amount of presenters across North America do the exact same thing. Some also serve hot dogs and the like... Mirvish is tame by comparison.

Dumb dumb question incoming: Is the news of Chicago going non-union particularly noteworthy? This is the current NY Broadway production we’re talking about, correct? How long has the production been touring, and is this the first time they’re sending out a non-union company? Not that I think the show will close in NY within the next five years, but it’s grosses have certainly been... lowering, here and there. I feel like a long-runner akin to Wicked, Lion King, Book of Mormon, etc., wouldn’t do this unless the shows lifecycle was really beginning to die down. Is that what is happening here?
Chicago has sent out non-equity tours before. It's probably been about 10 years since the last one. They probably do it to get to certain cities that don't take union tours.

Makes sense, thanks!

Cleveland is doing their launch March 3rd or around there.
Any news if The Band's Visit will be going out for another year on the road? Massive fan of the show, and as a Florida resident, was incredibly confused and disappointed that no Florida cities were on the initial tour schedule, especially considering that they basically hit all the other major touring markets in the first year....
I assume Mormon is closing in Hershey this summer? They haven't added dates beyond that for months (maybe a year or so). Or will they reopen under a SETA contract?

According to an email I got from Cal Poly Arts last year, Book of Mormon is going to be touring with options for split weeks and single engagements so they can make it more accessible to venues like theirs. Interpret that however you want, but at least the show is, for the time being, continuing on to perform.

Book of Mormon 2nd national, the Chicago company which has been touring since the original Chicago engagement closed in fall of 2013, will close this summer; being a headline show which was playing one-week stops by it's second year on the year means that nearly every full week market has gotten the tour at least twice, a handful of markets are up to five engagements. They are breaking for the 20-21 season, with plans to relaunch fall of 2021-I'm not sure at what scale.
While I'm not at liberty to say where, Band's Visit has booking into spring of 2021. Expect it in season announcements forthcoming for 2020-2021 engagements.
