I can't ignore the image of David Cook going "The PHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTOM OF THE OPERA IS THERE.....(and then in a low, snarly whisper) insiiiiide your miiiiind."
I would actually enjoy that.
Wouldn't be surprised if Syesha took on Jesus Christ Superstar.
But what will David Archuleta sing?

I bet Carly tries to sing Memory. She'll make it very angry, like everything else she does... she gets worse and worse every week.
I agree, David A. should sing Any Dream will Do... no matter what I find him extremely annoying though.
David Cook should sing Jesus Christ Superstar or High Flying Adored
Syesha should sing I Don't Know How to Love Him
I have no idea what Brooke or Jason should sing.
I don't know who's left... I stopped watching it after Dolly Parton week ( I started watching because Dolly and ALW were going to mentor), but I've been waiting for ALW week, even though I'm not a big ALW (or American Idol) fan.

Brooke has to go.
I could see David A. doing Any Dream Will Do, Jason Castro doing I Believe My Heart, and David C. doing Close Every Door.
I just want David C. continuing the trend of unexpected songs being transformed, not just doing something from JCS, which would be the easy choice.
Carly could probably do a great Don't Cry For Me.

David Cook should (and hopefully will) sing something from JCS my hope being Heaven on their minds or Gethsmane.
Carly could actually sing I dont know how to love him but I wouldnt be surprised if Syesha sang it.
I dont care what castro sings because every time i see him i change the channel(sp?) because i dont like him at all.
Archuleta could do any dream but what about music of the night?

Posted: 4/21/08 at 11:28pmBrave Sir Robin your one of the few people i have talked to that arent falling over jason hoping he wins. His hair bothers the hell out of me and he cant sing and I hate him. I want him voted off soooooooooooooooooooooooo badly. If Micahel johns was voted off why the hell is castro still in it. And im kinda afraid hes gonna make the top 3 (with the two davids as the other 2)

I think it should be:
David Cook- Heaven on their Minds
Siesha- I Don't know how to love him (she prolly isn't daring enough to do anything else)
Jason- Any Dream Will Do (it would work well for his style)
Carly- Something from EVITA...Buenos, Argentina, or Rainbow High?
Brooke- Memory
David A- Close Every Door
#12re: ALW on AI tomorrow night...
Posted: 4/21/08 at 11:47pmYeah, I definitely think Brooke will do Memory, unfortunately.

None of them should do "Memory."
I do hope someone sings something from SONG & DANCE, "Take That Look Off Your Face," "Tell Me on a Sunday," "Unexpected Song," "Come Back with the Same Look in Your Eyes," something!

Rainbow High? Lol!
We're not getting anythign that obscure (or chorus heavy). They'd be wise to stay away from anything written for Eva in Evita. Too many key changes. None of those girls has the range.
I think, not want, but knowing their previous choices:
Brooke = "I Don't Know How to Love Him"
Carly = "Memory"
Syesha = "Dont Cry for Me Argentina" or "Unexpected Song"
Archuleta: "Music of the Night"
Cook: I'm sure he'll pick something, change the way it sounds and actually put his own stamp. I'd assume "Phantom of the Opera"
Castro: "Any Dream Will Do"

Posted: 4/22/08 at 12:16amI think it's kind of ironic that they're having ALW on American Idol because Simon always says for people to stop sounding "too Broadway."

My guesses...
Brooke: I Don't Know How... or Everything's Alright
Carly: Memory, Argentina or Close Every Door (maybe even Anything But Lonely, which would be great for her)
Syesha: Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again
David A.: Love Changes Everything
Jason: Music of the Night (I think he'll do a watered down, guitar version)
David C: Superstar or Gesthemane (though Simon will rightfully call the latter self indulgent) perhaps he'd fare better with the lesser known Heaven On Their Minds

Posted: 4/22/08 at 12:29amthatd actually be kinda cool if archuleta sang love changes everything. And cook would be foolish imo to not do something from JCS.

I think next year Sondheim should be a mentor.
Honestly, I can't think of any song written by ALW that I would like to hear any of them sing.

Oh yea...I'd love to hear someone sing "Tell me on a sunday"

JCS is the obvious choice for David, so I think he'll probably steer clear to be "different" (although I think he is the best of the 6), how about Unsettled Scores?
David A-Close Every Door
Carly-Our Kind of Love (and not just because she's Irish, haha)
Brooke-should just quit singing all together as proof of her horrendous rendition of Hero last week, she HAS to go already
Jason-High Flying Adored
Syesha-Whistle Down the Wind

I don't know how much obscure ALW we should expect, after all, the people left probably are going to pick the songs they know or have at least heard before. Unless some of them are theatre fans, I doubt they'll dig that deep into the ALW songbook. I don't even think it would be an advantage for some of them to go obscure, don't forget Mainstream America wants to hear something they recognize...
I think next year Sondheim should be a mentor.
Please no... I don't want any contestants to rape Sondheim's songs, I don't mind so much if it's ALW's songs!

Posted: 4/22/08 at 12:50amif they did sondheim it should have been this year. David Cook singing epiphany would rock! -note the sarcasm- but i do love me some david cook. He needs to win that competition.

"I think David A. will sing Any Dream Will Do."
I can definitely see him or even Jason Castro do that.
