Has anyone heard about the casting for this? Member tickets just went on sale and public goes on sale Thursday…was wondering if anyone heard anything?

It sounds like a lot of the OG cast from Encores have offers to come back. Not all, but a lot…

I will be surprised if it is Zegler....she is very in demand in the film world and will only become more so after Snow White
is she really going to do two out of town runs and then Broadway for upwards of a year?

I believe the principals are all new. Rachel is indeed Eva.
I heard the Rachel announcement is coming next week. Full cast after that.
The announcement of the ART production itself said it would have a new cast, despite the director being the same as in NY.

Can she sing it? I know she can sing but you have to be able to SING for Evita.

Of course she can sing it. Have you seen her belt on her videos. Also give some credit to the creatives, they know who to cast and what to do.

She's brilliant. I love her attitude.

Zegler is a bonafide theater girl. The film career almost seems like something that happened as opposed to something she strived for.
I think it's a smart move on her part to tackle Broadway while the kettle is hot. It's clearly a dream of hers and while her staying power is promising - nothing is promised.

I'm not suggesting this casting is a mistake, but let's not pretend that creatives are always omnipotent and all-knowing.

With the Rachel announcement coming this week are they also announcing a Broadway run right away?

I don’t think so. I’m assuming they’ll wait to open at A.R.T get reviews and probably announce the transfer? the director did tag ALW on the first announcement post. We shall see….just a little touch of star quality!
Zegler’s tweet about her possible Broadway debut indicates that the show is aiming for Broadway, but yes, I’m sure it will depend on reviews, getting additional investors, etc.

Unless this gets major major pans I can see ALW pulling strings (and his own money) to bring it to broadway just to help keep his "has had a show running in broadway for decades" title since I don't see Bad Cinderella lasting that long.

Since this is a co-production with the Shakespeare Theatre in DC, I would assume they would wait till it opens in DC to announce a transfer.

Not doubting Rachel Zegler’s singing abilities, but aside from that, playing Eva Peron just seems like a really weird casting choice to me - to me she doesn’t have the gravitas for the role, but happy to be proven wrong.

Where does it say there doing a run in DC? I think they are doing it at ART and then Broadway.

Shakespeare Theatre announced it will open it's 23/24 season, so assuming DC in the Fall?

Anyone know what day this week the announcement is coming?
Unrelated, but I couldn't help but think of Evita when I saw this look tonight:
