I hope 5 years from now she is not regretting what she did to her voice during all the shrieking.

It's really hard for me to believe that the way she's singing the score is not causing vocal damage."
Maybe, but she seems to be missing more shows post-Tonys than before, unless some people in this tread are just emphasizing it more now. It makes me wonder she's lost the drive now that she didn't cop the Tony. I'd have liked to see this show continue strong, win or not, but it needs her to be there to do that.

And how about 18 times in 205 performances? Y'all are so damn weird lol. If we're going to pull up numbers let's pull them all up.

I think Audra is a real deal professional. I can't imagine not winning a Tony would effect her work ethic. If call outs have increased since the ceremony (according to this thread they have) I think the likelier culprit is post-Tonys exhaustion. June always sees a lot of performers calling out (in nominated shows).
Who’s seeing Montego’s Rose debut tonight?

Montego joining for the week is really exciting to me! I only wish her stay were longer. Assuming she will sing the score in the original keys?
“I only wish her stay were longer.” I wouldn’t wish this on the show. Sales are abysmal this week. It’s already broadways worst week of the year. They’ve blocked off the rear mezz and rear orchestra and she still isn’t half sold. I’d be shocked if the show manages to break $600,000 in sales this week.
I guess it would be financially prohibitive to just shut down for a week and give the entire company a break? Especially this awful holiday theater week . I know DBH could use some reset time as well.

What would be the point? They'd still have to pay everyone. The Shuberts aren't going to waive their rent for a week.

That statement is not even a little bit true. Maybe it's a down week of the summer but certainly not the worst week of the year... have you seen January and September weeks?
Starting July 20, Glover will play Rose on Sundays through August 31.
Telecharge is now selling tickets until October 5th. I think it was onsale through the new year, before?

As of May it was selling tickets through October, though not sure if they extended the on sale window since then and then retracted it.
Glover will now play all Sunday Matinee performances.

Not surprised at all.

Nope, they began selling tickets for October a few months ago further extending it from its original selling date of end of Summer, it was never extended after that.
Great news about Montego, who was absolutely wonderful over the weekend. Im glad she has a chance to shine and Audra gets a two day break for awhile.

Per the website and telecharge, it looks as though Glover will also be performing tomorrow night as well.
I guess Ms. McDonald is under the weather. I tried for Rush seats for last night and today’s matinee and evening and all those performances lists Ms. Glover playing the part of Rose. Any info? Thanks.

SHE OUT! What else do you need to know?
If she has this summer cold going around, she could be out for a while. I had it for two weeks as well as some friends there in NYC. The coughing was ridiculous and my throat was scratchy for about three days after I got over it.
I was merely asking, my kind friend, if anyone knew if she planned to be out all week. Nothing major. Thank you to the others here who replied like a gentleman.

Unfortunately, this show is not going to make it to Labor Day. Told to me by a reliable source. That’s all I can say but you’ll hear more details sooner than you think.
