Given the high response to Urinetown and the fact that NYCC is including it in their line-up, I hope that means we'll have a revival soon!

How is it this close between Follies and Aladdin??

GYPSY almost tied with BEETLEJUICE? Oyy!!
Seems like there are a lot of tweens voting and skewing the results.
I would think we would collectively rally behind She Loves Me, but here we are.

So we're still voting for the show that we like best, so it can win Silver, essentially?
Please let it be Follies or Gypsy or something. I mean...Mean Girls, really?
Can anyone explain how the shows are paired up? I mean, bummer that it's WEST SIDE STORY vs PIPPIN when really, both should have made it to the final rounds...

Don't forget Les Mis won the last bracket. The snobs (I count myself as one) get outvoted and there's a strong recency bias. Frozen easily beating Caroline, or Change hurts my heart. How are Funny Girl and Mean Girls even close?
I cannot live in a world where Beetlejuice is voted a better musical than Gypsy!

Pass me the cyanide, Aladdin is beating Follies.

Looks like we’re about to see GYPSY, FOLLIES and SHE LOVES ME be eliminated in favor of BEETLEJUICE, ALADDIN and MARY POPPINS.
Pathetic. Time for those of us over the age of 16 to start voting again with different email addresses!

Pathetic and appalling. I'm surprised and pleased that Ragtime and Great Comet are tied, although I suspect Ragtime will take over soon (not my choice). Dreamgirls losing to Matilda? Heresy.
Some of these pairings were just plain mean.
Sunday in the Park against Parade? I feel like I'm the Confrontation in Jekyll and Hyde (I picked Sunday like a good boy).
Dreamgirls v. Matilda? I really loved Matlida, but Dreamgirls is the great American musical of the end of the 20th Century.

Matilda can not be allowed to beat Dreamgirls!
My first dose of cyanide did not work when Aladdin beat Follies in the previous round. I will have to take a double dose now because Aladdin is beating my favorite musical of all time Chicago 75 vs 25. WTF?

Probably only 4 people had voted at that point. I feel like the Disney shows are getting a boost from the movies as much as the stage shows but interestingly most of these shows have movie adaptations or pro-shots... which just returns to the voting skewing young.

There are five days to stop Beauty and the Beast from knocking out Sunday in the Park with George

Honestly, at this point I just have to laugh. Beauty and the Beast vs. Chicago and Wicked vs. Newsies.

Gypsy, West Side Story, Follies, Dreamgirls, Ragtime, Pippin, Sunday in the Park With George, Parade all eliminated. But thank God we still have Beauty and the Beast and Newsies. <smh>

Yep --- looks like this poll was dominated by 14 year old girls.

No kidding! I guess we should be relieved Chicago is still even in the running.

It’s really going to be Beauty and the Beast against Newsies in the finals? How strange.

From a musical perspective, West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein is a masterpiece because of the musical unity throughout the entire score. This musical exhibits the best elements that all musicals contain, and it has become a classic in the musical theater repertoire.
