If he is sick, I hope they get better. But my instinct tells me this may not be the case ... ... I suspect there is more to this ."
The fact that his leave currently has a fixed end date is odd for a leave of illness, as is the fact his unscheduled absence continued right out of his scheduled one. It's certainly possible he may be undergoing treatment for something or recuperating from a procedure.

This is what I can't understand. Why did they even ask Porter to come over anddo the role in New York? He got bad reviews in the West End and also had poor attendance."
Apparently Billy and Marisha’s Broadway contracts were signed before their west end run. Probably not a wise move on the producers end.

Sounds like a sensible idea for a show already closing at a massive loss. I swear I think nobody reads a thread at all before they drop in with their own truly brilliant ideas.

Wow. That’s what I call “good availability”. And both shows on Wednesday aren’t much better. The entire overall calendar has green dots on each date.
Management will be pushing the cocktails.

This should have closed with Eva and Orville.
That is a shockingly empty house for a show with such a recognizable title. I really can't think of another production imploding as severely as this- this time last year, it was grossing 1.5 mil. Even as recently as April, it was consistently hitting 1 mil.

Everyone goes back to school next week. So everyone is running everywhere
It should of closed after Adam
mess

Oh my Lord & Taylor - that is NOT cute. Again, it just makes me feel bad for the cast and Marisha & Calvin in particular since they are turning in stellar work.
At this point, I would expect them to call it after Labor Day weekend for a 9/7 closing and Porter not returning at all. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a revival hit freefall so fast since this time last year, selling a limb couldn’t get you a ticket.

I do not know how these things work. But could the London production be floating the Broadway one?
That’s an interesting question. They’re both ATG, so I guess that’s entirely possible?
Luis Suarez, of the production’s in-house photographers, posted on IG that tonight is his last scheduled night of work for the production.

A final night of photos before a closing announcement I wonder?
Wouldn’t he be there for closing?
Judging by his website for the Kit Kat Photos, he was only there taking photos a few times a month. There's really no reason for him to be there for the closing because the novelty marketing of an in house photographer will serve no purpose.

Forgive me if I misinterpreting, but, you imply that he’s one of multiple photographers. So maybe irrelevant with the closing gossip?
No, Luis is the photographer for the production. When I saw the show for the second time in New York with Orville and Eva, I was honestly surprised to see they were still taking photos of the attendees at that point. I figured it was one of those pre-show elements that would have been dropped as soon as grosses began to slip, but nonetheless.

Reddit so grain of salt but a top thread comment on Cabaret also say Billy is ill and hospitalized. Replacement being announced Tuesday.
Best wishes to him.

Jenny Anderson is the also in-house photographer duties for VIPs and events.
Two different roles.

That's the kind of pre-sale where you could walk up to the box office an hour or so before curtain - and they would give you a table seat for no charge - well, maybe a two drink minimum cover charge.
