If we don't get a proshot of this show I'm gonna hold my breath until I die!

Today was indeed an exceedingly beautiful performance. It felt very special that Katrina Lenk was in on all the love this time around, and to have the whole cast for the closing. I will horribly miss having this show to see.

What a great final performance! Sad that it’s no longer on Broadway but thankful it was here for the time it was!

The LWL standing ovation was soooo long and well deserved. Patti was looking the whole time dead pan into the audience, occasionally adjusting her fur ever so slightly. I will never forget that moment.

Patti was on the verge of tears by the end of that 3 minutes.

I would say Matt got a standing ovation after Getting Married Today for like 1 min.

Also, When Matt appeared on the stage polishing a shoe, he had to keep doing it because the audience would not stop clapping and cheering

I wish Katrina had held for longer after Being Alive for her standing ovation. It would have gone on a lot longer if she had let it. Let us love you, dammit!

This is at least the second time you’re written this in this thread. It is not true. The orchestra is on a stationary platform; it does not move.

It was such a great afternoon. There's not too much to say. The cast was at the top of their game.

I was most impressed by how reigned in and in the moment Patti was throughout. I expected her to ham it up for the final performance, and she didn't.

Katrina was a marvel throughout. Her three solos are so exquisite and break my heart every time. I wish more than anything that the Tony nominators got to see this version of her performance. She is so free on that stage and in control of every moment, including the music. I will never forget her performance, it has touched me in so many ways.

The enthusiasm from the audience was respectful throughout, except for one glaring moment, two people in orchestra house right stood when Patti started the final rises in LWL before the song ended. I found that extremely disrespectful to the audience members behind them.

"Side by Side/What Would We Do Without You" was more chaotic than usual, each cast member was having a ball up there and really giving it their all during this number.

Also, who heard Patti yell something backstage after "Tick Tock?" Anybody know what she said? She also  squeezed Etai's face in the final scene a couple of times.

The curtain speeches from Marianne and Chris Harper were lovely. Harper stated "we plan to...we will be touring the show in 2023."

The link between being Jewish and having money is a very archaic and, frankly, uncool connection that you are making, not one implied by the production.

How long of a Standing Ovation did Matt Doyle get for Not Getting Married Today?

45 seconds.

Archaic is a really nice way to say downright offensive. Was this comment deleted without comment, because its both ugly and completely revealing about the way this poster's mind works. Truly disgusting.

I was there this afternoon. It was magical and so much love from everyone in the house. Almost topping The Color Purple revival closing performance, which I treasure and love so, so much as one of my most memorable theatergoing experiences. It was so lovely that Marianne Elliot attributed much of the production to Sondheim, reminiscing about their work process and the great time they had. Although there are things about this production that I find too busy and a bit distracting, I love through and through the emotional core of the piece that this production manages to dig out and that still rings true to our human experience in this day and age. For this magnificent feat, I'll drink to that.

According, to, umm, something on my phone, her ovation was 3 minutes on the nose.

What a glorious afternoon and a beautiful send off to this show.

If you ever happen to need to share whatever that is, I can think of someone who’d want it! Teeheehee

But in all seriousness, this is bar none the best production I’ve ever seen. Company is a musical that means more to me than anything else, and to say it delivered undersells.  I’m so fortunate as an out-of-towner to have seen it three times, and it was better every time.  Katrina Lenk’s performance deserves to go down in legend, because she redefined what we thought Bobby/ie could and should be.  Cheers to all.  We were so lucky that this production happened.

I just had a thought as to why the production may have closed earlier than one would’ve hoped or thought…and tell me if I’m COMPLETELY off here but-Patti has been with the show for how long? West End and then Broadway? And who would you have wanted to replace her? Maybe she was a big factor in the decision to close. I said I know I could be totally off. Just a thought I had.

My speculation is that the show was expensive to run - Nytimes said the capital was 13 million and they also had a 10 million covid grant but they weren’t sure if they would break even by July 31st. Maybe it’s not this simple but assuming they didn’t have to pay the 10 million back (do they?) and it helped fund a large chunk of the capital the only way I can imagine the show not recouping the rest by now is if it costs quite a bit each week (eg 700k+ - I can’t do specific calculation estimates now but will when able to as the data is there). The Tonys did not exactly give the boost needed, LuPone’s audience was starting to dry up and there were no star replacements so it only made sense to close now. I don’t think LuPone had planned to leave the show any time soon.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Then make sure you catch his show at Birdland on 8/15. He may even get a haircut before then.

Was lucky to return to this gem for a fourth and final toast at Sunday's last show, and I now know what it was like to attend one of those legendary performances from the Golden Age that you read about in books.

Was third row, center, and watching Patti taking in that 'five minute standing o' after LWL, with tears welling up in her eyes, is something i will never forget.

The perfect ending to a perfect production.

I heard or read an interview where Sondheim was saying that it was actually his hope that people would spontaneously stand up in LWL during the repeated "Rise."

How lucky are we to have experienced this production of Company? Pure bliss from start to finish. I’ve been fortunate enough to see it multiple times and every single time I laughed like I haven’t in ages and completely got on board with Bobbie’s journey.

Thank you, Marianne Elliot for this remarkable revival and thank you to this stellar cast who always gave 100% in commitment and energy.

This revival quickly launches to the top of my list of favorites.

Any more posts about the closing? Hilarious that some people seemed to take that ‘Rise’ line a little too literally. Harper’s clarification that they hope/will tour is a little disconcerting!
