I guess no cast recording will happen? I wonder if they can arrange for a filmed proshot of the show.

I’m holding onto any hope possible for a cast recording or a pro shot. It seems they filmed most of the musical numbers for the documentary, I’ll even take a release of those.
Damn…I was supposed to see it back in April 2020 so was adding to the list for my September return. Sorry to see it go. Here’s hoping that not too many other shows suffer the same fate.
So many shows I need to see again before they close. This, Come From Away, Tina, Dear Evan Hansen.
I guess they didn't get any type of bump from the Tonys and couldn't find any type of name to replace LuPone or Lenk.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
NOOOOOO! Why are they closing so early? I thought they were doing great! This show is such a masterpiece, I don't know why it is closing this soon! I thought it would last another year or two at the earliest! I am just glad I got to see it twice! I will cherish the memory I made with this show forever!
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince
I'm devastated. Already bought my tickets for the last show.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
Can't think of a single reason why this needs to close now. And the lack of proshot and cast recording just seem like really big missteps to preserve a historic and iconic revival?

They could have had Laura Benanti or Rosalie Craig replace Katrina. Maybe Barbara Walsh reprise her role from 2006?

Curious to see who they end up getting for the tour and if the set has to change.

I wonder if today’s announcement about masks had anything to do with this. Patti has been very vocal about her desire for audience mask-wearing. The show just won many of this year’s biggest Tonys and should see a boost in sales, so this seems like a decision that was made with other things in mind.
I'm sure the set would change. Having the orchestra come from the ceiling, I doubt they'd do that on tour.
I'm sad to see this go. And I think having your leading lady get universally bad reviews would not merit a cast recording. But sad to see this go before the terrible Funny Girl.

I was thinking the same thing, lol. Sondheim helped make that happen though by personally asking BP for the favor.
Glad I just re-booked my tickets for next week after having to cancel when Patti was out last week. This revival is absolutely wonderful, and I’m happy to have seen it as many times as I was able to with so many different understudies. One of the best overall ensembles I’ve ever seen on a Broadway stage.
