In your opinion, which shows do you feel are at most risk?

Musical-wise, most likely Ain’t Too Proud, Girl From the North Country, and Tina. But we will find out soon enough.

I so hope Hadestown survives.
Which shows do you think have a chance of surviving the winter/Omricon? That might be an easier/shorter list than those that will close.
My list:
Hamilton
To Kill a Mockingbird?
The Lion King
The Music Man?
Moulin Rouge!
Phantom
Six
Wicked
My friend also suggested The Book of Mormon.
I hope Company can make it longer, too.

watching the "stars in the house" livestream, and Ciara Renee just said there have been several positive results at Waitress- enough that shes called out because she doesnt feel safe.

Why wouldn’t they cancel shows if there were positive cases?

Generally speaking, I believe they only cancel if they don’t have enough swings/understudies/stand-bys to cover for those who test positive.

from watching this- it seems like some shows are continuing with positive cases, they are having to cancel once they arn't able to provide coverage. but other shows are pulling the ripcord with just a case or two, "out of an abundance of caution."
its a free for all. every show is testing differently, and every show is responding to positive differently.

Just received a text that Cursed Child was cancelled for me. It was going to be Wednesday at 1:00. Expecting that announcement soon.

The first 4 wouldn't surprise me that much, but what makes you think Hadestown?

Also on Stars In The House, they said shows that are cancelled through Christmas is more for the safety of the cast and crew through the holidays than not having enough cast members to actually perform the show.

Leaning more toward Doubtfire or Tina.
How were advanced ticket sales for Hadestown?

Did they expand on that? Maybe I’m just tired but i don’t understand what that means.

It's nonsense. Tired or not, you understand exactly. If I have learned one thing over the last 100 years, it's that the sort of people who are on SITH are not reliable messengers of accurate information.

More or less the shows that have cancelled for a week or longer are being cautious through the holidays. They could possibly do shows this week but are playing it safe by not risking the cast and crew to exposure during this (busy) week.

How is this week on stage any less “dangerous” than next week?

Just in general that NYC is busier with tourists and Christmas parties. Why enhance the risk by having their show open and risk greater exposure?

Tonight's SITH is a MUST WATCH for everyone. Most importantly for the current Covid information presented. (and secondly for the Broadway antidotes)

Do you mean anecdotes - stories behind the scenes regarding the COVID cases?

"In most cases, producers say, the positive coronavirus tests are associated with mild or asymptomatic cases, but the performances are being canceled because there are not enough understudies or replacement workers to substitute for those who must miss the show." Quoting Michael Paulson,

Well unfortunately I think this is just the beginning for show closures. I don’t see investors sitting with this risk added to the already risky investment. The people I know (many of whom are still in quarantine) say that behind the scenes things really are a mess- not enough cast/crew due to quarantines, constant outbreaks, and others not feeling safe enough to show up. They are predicting just from there inner circles that by Christmas half the shows won’t be playing. And more in the next ten days will announce their permanent closures. The ones they were mentioning were: Girl from the North Country, waitress (to announce early), ain’t too proud, Harry Potter, MJ, Doubtfire, Hadestown, flying over sunset.
the one apparently though with the most worry about a positive test is the music man revival just due to their size. They fear how detrimental a single positive case would be

Flying Over Sunset would be closing early as well; it is only set to run through February 6 as of right now.

Frankly I would be shocked and appalled (and heartbroken) if Hadestown announced closure. Any of the others wouldn’t surprise me (as) much although I’m much less familiar with them. Waitress is set to close in early January anyway, plus they had a successful almost 4 year run pre-pandemic. I never saw HPCC but not sure how the reviews/sales are now that they reworked it to one part instead of a 2-part (and inevitably cut some material in the process). I’ve heard mixed things on Doubtfire and Flying Over Sunset but overall not overwhelming positive. But I’ve heard next to no red flags for Hadestown (other than a few cast members testing positive, as has been the case in several shows) until this thread that is. I realize it’s no Hamilton or Wicked and in comparison to shows like those is relatively new, but it’s always struck me as being quite successful.
