I guess so - Per Telecharge :Mr. Jackman will not be appearing in THE MUSIC MAN on the following dates: January 2 - 5, 2022"
Do we thinkSean Montgomery would be on as Harold Hill?"
I'm sure he'll get rehearsed in case Clayton is out. But as a standby, Max would be first to go on."
Max just announced he has COVID on Instagram and will be out until Jan 6, so it will be Sean"
So Hugh & Max are out until Jan. 6. I wonder if they have another cast member u/s Harold Hill while Sean is on as an emergency backup?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Isn’t it irresponsible that they thought Sutton could be positive and Hugh negative? Like they sing and dance in each other’s faces (I presume they kiss at least once). Even if for the first few days he tested negative, they probably should’ve assumed he was positive as we know sometimes it takes a few days to test positive.

Josh Daniel is playing Seymour this week according to Evan Alexander Smith’s IG post."
Josh posted he tested positive and Evan will go on tonight. Just a note, with Jeremy Jordan and Josh out, Evan is the last Seymour cover they have.

No, let’s not assume anything. There are plenty of examples where one party is positive and the other is negative after several tests. My cousin is going through this now. She spent the day with a friend 2 weeks ago and he tested positive before starting a new job. She was with him all day and slept at his house since she didn’t want to drive 2 hrs from Philly in the middle of the night. 3 covid tests later, she is still testing negative.

But assuming positivity, at least until the 5 day window of highest chance for testing positive, is the safer choice. I hear you that there are cases that where it’s not the case, but if we are trying to squash the spread assuming positivity is the safer choice.

So then we’re playing Schrödinger's Covid with that logic. Everyone both has covid and doesn’t have covid at the same time until you can prove one or the other.
Broadway needs to move to testing like the NFL. Only test when you have symptoms. This would all be avoided that way.

And isn't it also fair to assume Kathy Voytko has been exposed by Hugh? This seems like it could be a bit of a cycle for the next few weeks.

Absolutely, my thought is if they had assumed positive (Maybe cancelled performances earlier?) they could’ve prevented further spread thru the company. I don’t know I’m not a medical expert but I feel like hoping for negative will extend the cycle.
Assuming anything is foolish. Claybourne Elder and Katrina Lenk share a long makeout scene where they're kissing and breathing all over each other. He tested positive the same day Foster did. To date, Lenk has not (though I'm probably jinxing her), nor have all but one of his castmates.
Broadway isn't trying to squash the spread. Broadway is trying to stay open. Anyone who tests positive was likely sharing a stage and the air for several hours, maskless, the night before with their castmates. Assuming positivity would mean assuming all those people they interacted with on stage is now positive, which means shutting down the shows at the first positive test (or bringing in a whole new cast every single time a la Come From Away), to hell with all the people depending on the show for their livelihood. And what if those people really are negative? The show starts up again, THEN someone catches it, and they shut down again? Rinse, repeat?
Replacing people only after they're confirmed to actually have it is the only way to keep shows going; otherwise Broadway might as well shut down entirely again, and the industry can't withstand that.
I think the huge elephant in the room is the hundreds of thousands of revenue they forfeit every time they cancel a performance while still being liable for almost all the running costs for that performance.
Sure, some/most ticket-holders will choose to exchange for a later date, but that’s still not cash-in-the-bank for those canceled performance.
Plus, what would the metrics be for canceling a show upon a positive test? Any positive cast member regardless of ability of available people to cover? Any positive crew member? That would be a show-killer.
They’d be hanging all their hopes that by canceling a week’s worth of performances every time someone tests positive that when they resume, there will be no more positives. That seems unlikely.
if we were talking pre-vaccinations/pre-Omricon, that might still be the only plausible option, but with vaccinated people almost all experiencing none-to-moderate symptoms, the current protocol (as inexact as it is) may the best we’ve got.
I do agree it was likely Hugh would test positive though.

Looks like Ain't Too Proud, Flying Over Sunset, Hamilton, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will all resume tonight with their 7:00 curtains. Potter has 8 covers on tonight, including for James Snyder!
American Utopia is set to go "unchained" for the first time at 8; the show is expected to stay that way at least until next Wednesday.

Seems more likely the production asked him to remove the post, either because of the rehearsal photo or just generally saying anything about the production that was outside their social media agreement.

Our friend was with someone last week who tested positive, he then started getting symptoms. He did some rapid tests at home, all negative, so decided to go to a testing site for a PCR test. BC is no longer doing PCR tests for 0-65, so he was given a rapid test at the testing site. He tested negative again. Then did a 4th rapid test the next day, negative. It was only on the 5th test that he finally got a positive.
Assuming American Utopia started, only 8 Broadway shows were cancelled tonight. Remember that there was one day last week when 15 shows were cancelled.

And there’s still a chance there could only be 2 shows cancelled tomorrow.
