Corbin Bleu will be the first "High School Musical" alum to hit Broadway, with the thesp stepping into the lead role of Tony-winning tuner "In the Heights" early next year.
Bleu, who appeared as basketball player Chad in both "HSM" telepics as well as the 2008 "HSM" feature, will play young bodega owner Usnavi in "Heights." His 13-week stint in the musical runs Jan. 25-April 25.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Posted: 12/8/09 at 11:35pmWhen I read the headline I immediately thought he was cast as Sonny, which I can totally see and think he could excel at. However, USNAVI?? REALLY? I hope he proves my immediate thoughts wrong...

Supposedly he's half Jamaican, so at least it's somewhere south of the continental US.
Meanwhile, I checked - he's 20 years old. Robin de Jesus is 25 years old. This should be interesting.
