Galvin has an absolutely gorgeous voice that will sound amazing in this music.
Trensch...well, I guess we don't have to worry about the role wrecking his voice, since it's already wrecked.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

Taylor was one of best parts of Dolly, as sad as I am to see him leave the show, I'm so stoked to see his take on Evan! Now all we need is Ben Platt as Barnaby and we're set.

mid-January 2018. Curious. So I'm guessing he's leaving with Bette on 14th January or right before? Would be surprised if he doesn't take at least a week off between shows.
Caption: Every so often there was a rare moment of perfect balance when I soared above him.
With Kristolyn leaving in February, I wonder if she's involved with a show transferring to Broadway in the spring. Any ideas?

OMG YES YES YES YES YES YES YES. Taylor will be FANTASTIC. I saw him on for Alex Sharp in Curious Incident and he gave one of the best performances I've ever seen. Also beyond thrilled for Laura, Rachel and the rest of the gang! I'm thinking Kristolyn is involved with another show or maybe she wants a break? I really would like to see Alexis Molnar back in the role. Phoenix Best is with the Les Mis tour so she won't be back with DEH...
I know Samantha Marie ware is leaving the Chicago company of Hamilton in September, so it may be a long shot, but I wouldn't mind her as Alana.

Taylor is a great choice; he was heartbreaking as Christopher in Curious Incident and as Moritz and Spring Awakening, and I feel like the characters have a similar energy in a lot of ways. I don't know enough about Galvin to say anything, though.
I'm a little disappointed. I really did want the next Evan to be a POC but I'm interested to see how Noah and Taylor make the role their own. I might buy a ticket for after Taylor takes over. I'm over the moon that the other principal actors extended their contracts, I thought Laura might leave when Ben did but I'm excited to see how she plays opposite Noah and Taylor.
I wonder how much more the others were offered to stay on. Especially RBJ, who seems like she might be wanted for TV and Films now.

I wonder if Galvin's short two months stint might be his lead up to doing the tour?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
GIVE EVAN AN ALTERNATE PLEASE!! This show has taken such a physical toll on Ben's body and voice. I sincerely hope they cast an alternate. My choice would be Michael Lee Brown, but I hear they're eyeing him for the tour.

Or he has other commitments and can only sign on for a short stint. They need someone to hold down the fort between Platt's exit and Trensch's arrival, and Galvin is a semi-name. It's a smart choice.

When I first saw the headline I assumed that Galvin was going to be lead and Trensch would be the alternate
Wow! I am not a big fan of the score and decided I didn't need to rush to see this show but.....I want to see both of these guys. Especially Taylor. I have become a fan.

I was thinking the same thing. It seems almost like an unspoken rule that no one leaves DOLLY before Bette takes her final bow.
