Most likely they won’t. Shows in previews don’t collect. The schedule of rehearsing during the day and performing at night and the pressure of getting the show ready for critics outweighs getting the cast to sign posters or giving post-show curtain speeches and collecting.
I saw Funny Girl on Thursday! Full disclosure: I never liked the book and I enjoy some of the music. With that said, most of the cast is terrific (especially Ramin). The direction is average, set design is beautiful. Beanie is...nothing that hasn't been said here already. Lacks the big stage charm, hard to believe she's the "greatest star," and her voice left a lot to be desired, which actually distracted me. Nevertheless, she hustles and I never felt like she was phoning anything in - and I appreciated her efforts. I do anticipate it'll have a healthy run because of nostalgia.

That is exactly my opinion! Today is opening night! Happy Birthday, Barbra and break a leg Beanie! I want to put out positive energy and I hope this revival gets good reviews. Kindness costs nothing... and if audiences are loving this show and if they experience joy for a few hours while watching this, what is wrong with that?
Beanie obviously is good hearted and would want everybody to love this and I think Barbra would too.
Let's hold a good thought and gather back later to discuss the reviews. I am hoping this is a success.
I wonder if the critics will be extra kind to her as no one will want to bash such a high profile revival of a rarely staged show ?
If she really is as bad as everyone says- I hope that’s not the case. They should not get away with casting someone who can’t sing these iconic songs. They did it in London with Sheridan Smith , and they shouldn’t have got away with that.

Everyone isn't saying she's bad, so there's that. But I don't think critics are remotely concerned about bashing a high-profile revival. Why would they be? I expect the reviews to be the same mixture as we've seen in comments here: some calling it a fiasco, some saying Beanie's great with the comedy but can't pull off the songs, some saying it isn't a great voice but it does well enough considering it's a major reconceptualization of the character.

How can this be exactly your opinion? You have said you haven’t seen it . You have said that all you do is drive in your car to gage audience reaction. That’s what you said . It’s all there .
Can't believe the day is here. Feels like we've been dreaming, talking, predicting, etc. everything about this show's inevitable return to Broadway. Still waiting to see it, but wow what an exciting moment.

If no one else in the history of this board has done it, you don’t need to start."
Bold is an allowed option here which actually I prefer because it clearly separates the original message from the reply. If you find it offensive, use another available option: BLOCK me.
I do not marinate in anger. I do not monitor the styles of others. I remain positive.... it is a healthier choice.

Lorna Joe is here to stay. Anger is not productive. I do not get triggered, I do selective reading. You can ignore or block. Stay calm. Celebrate love and wish others success. Try it, good things come back to you in amazing ways.
So, your opinion will never be authentic. Of course, you'd actually have to SEE shows to form an opinion. Also, you want to be positive, but don't mind antagonizing the rest of the board.
Ignoring you going forward will be easy.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Duly noted. I never said I have an opinion about THE SHOW. I said I hope it will do well and I predicted it would get good reviews because of the nostalgia factor. I think Beanie will be charming as Fanny (based on the YT clips I saw). I also made some jokes about cruising across 52nd Street in my Corvair which I realize were taken literally...
I do not understand why my predictions would antagonize anybody. I still maintain this revival is here to stay.
