I second Downtown from Little Shop and One Day More from Les Miz. Downtown has got to be my favorite group number of all time.
You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl
"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor
"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl
"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott
Merano from Chess Land of Our Fathers from Martin Guerre The Prince Is Giving A Ball from Cinderella Tell Me It's Not True from Blood Brothers Garlic from Dance of the Vampires
Current Avatar: Me.
Current Saying: What do you mean it isn't enough being pretty? Have you seen my headshots?!?
Say A Prayer from Dance of the Vampires Starker als wir sind from Tanz der Vampire
And now here comes the twist:
They're the same damn song.

--Cartman: South Park
ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
"The Miracle Song" and "Simple" - ANYONE CAN WHISTLE (incidentally, SIMPLE is one of my all-time favorite showtunes)
"Y'know, I think Bertolt Brecht was rolling in his grave."
-Nellie McKay on the 2006 Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera, in which she played Polly Peachum
I agree that "One Day More" is good, but I can't believe that no one has mentioned "At the End of the Day" from Les Miserables. The start of the chorus of that song, when all of the townspeople are singing and facing the audience, always gives me goosebumps.
God, That's Good - Sweeney Todd Skid Row (Downtown) - Little Shop of Horrors A New Argentina - Evita (sort of an "entire town singing" song) Christopher Street - Wonderful Town
Call me crazy, but the first thing that popped into my head was that "Yahoo, doray, fahoo, foray" number from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Go figure. :)
Not necessarily my favorite, but the first thing that came to mind (especially with the word choice of 'town') is "Blame Canada" from the South Park movie. Crass perhaps, but hey it was even nominated for a freaking Oscar.
EDITED TO ADD: lol didn't realize the film itself had been suggested already. But not this song so it still counts. Updated On: 2/24/09 at 04:34 AM
My all-time favorite is "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" from Hello Dolly.
Pet peeve though: I know it's expensive, but if you don't have a train, don't have the ensemble line up and walk around like a train... just looks dreadful. Especially if the female ensemble members are twirling their umbrellas like train wheels. Gah.
And I know it's not an original song but I liked the whole town singing "Can't Help Falling In Love" at the Act 1 finale of "All Shook Up."
"I'm seeing the LuPone in Key West later this week. I'm hoping for great vocals and some sort of insane breakdown..." - BenjaminNicholas2
