Secret-Soul - I would agree with you on Perfectly Nice and Slip of a Girl from Jane Eyre if I just heard the recording, but Mary Stout performed them so beautifully in the show. It really worked well and defined her character. She was fantastic.

Okay... I know it is your opinion, BUT... "I'm Still Here"!!!!
The lyrics are brilliant, a mix of pop-culture from the early part of the century and it is a song of triumph despite many obstacles. One of my favorite songs.

"The Cop Song"-Urinetown (liked it better when I saw it though)
"Me and My Baby"-Chicago (superfluous)
"You'll See Boys"-Rent (always felt really bad for the actor playing Benny because this is all he gets)

I think the easiest way to make this list is to think about what songs I skip when listening to the CDs.

It Takes Two- Hairspray
Now I Have Everything- Fiddler
Empty Chairs at Empty Tables- Les Miz
I'm Not Wearing Underwear (Avenue Q)

There are more...my brain just won't let me think of them!!

"Little People" from Les Mis. Not the reprise when Gavroche dies, but the first time we hear it. It's stupid, it's pointless, and Gavroche annoys the living hell out if me.

onlylisab- you honestly think "All I Care about" is a bad song? It sums up all of Billy flynn's personality and introduces him. Mind you I am partial....i'm playing mr. flynn in a local theater this summer

Avenue Q - all the songs serve a purpose, but if i had to choose, i can do without schadenfreude.
Wicked - Thank Goodness (duh the wizard songs suck. the wizard sucks)

Les Mis-Castle on a Cloud--the young cosette i saw scarred this song for my ears forever

Guys and Dolls-Follow the Fold-I understand the purpose, but they really dont need it on the recording

Beauty and The Beast-Be Our Guest-it just gets old really quickly

Hairspray- I know where i've been
Wicked- Sentimental man
Man of Lamancha- What does he want of me (i just don't like)

RENT- Santa Fe. Bores the snot out of me and I can't pinpoint why.

Hairspray- Cooties. I feel for the actress portraying Amber, because this is her big number and the song rots.

AIDA- Unpopular opinon here, but I HATE Strongest Suit. The visuals are great, but it's just a really, really cheesy song. Thank goodness Amneris has "I Know the Truth" as well, because SS doesn't do anything for me. The reprise, on the other hand, is a different story.

Timeless to me - Hairspray (I haven't seen this live, though - it's just the CD version is boring)
Something - Witches of Eastwick. I think it's meant to be 'ironic' but it comes across as just annoying
Castle on a Cloud - Les Mis. It's just too easy to mess this song up
One More Kiss - Follies
Everything Taboo - Taboo
Sleeping on our own - Martin Guerre London production. It's just not as funny as it thinks it is.

And I agree with all the people that said all of the Wizards songs in Wicked as well.

This song is extraordinary live....especially when performed by Harvey and Dick. I just love Edna and Wilbur....

Another Pyramid - AIDA (God awful!)
Written in the Stars - AIDA (Sounds like an outtake from a 80's era Elton John album)
The Gods Love Nubia - AIDA (I don't get the hype over this one, it sounds like a grade B gospel-lite with the ensemble chorus all over the place)
