With all the calls for someone actually Jewish to play Fanny, remind me exactly which shtetl did Jane Lynch hail from again?

Wendi McLendon-Covey has been playing THE iconic Jewish mother Beverly Goldberg for 9 Seasons on THE GOLDBERGS and she’s Catholic. Both Valerie Harper and Anne Bancroft are famous for playing Jewish woman and they were both Roman Catholic. What’s your point, Beav?

Well. Looks like I’m going to see this just for Ramin with the hopes of Beanie’s understudy is on the day I go.

Did tickets go on presale already? I signed up for an early access but didn't receive any code yet.
No, they're not on sale yet. Someone must have jumped the gun with that ad.
Just checked, and it's loaded into SeatGeek. First date looks to be March 26th, and it says the fan presale starts today at 9 a.m. I haven't gotten a code yet either.

And, yes, it's at the August Wilson. Also, from what I can tell, opening night is April 24th.

For those who know the show - would it be better for me to familiarize myself before I eventually see this? Or should I leave it to be a surprise?
Thanks y’all for any wisdom bestowed!

I’m with you. Know nothing about it. Normally I do not research my shows before I see them but I feel like I might want to for this one. Especially since I think tickets might cost more than usual.
Edit: apparently tickets start at $39 so maybe will not cost more than I thought.
So a Funny Girl revival opening on Barbra Streisand’s birthday. I wonder how she feels about that haha!
Did anyone receive a code? I haven't received anything yet.

I signed up on the website and the code popped up there, it's FANFIRST
Saturday nights a bit steep, but not too too bad for weeknights (starting at $49).
Just saw the code on the website after I re entered my information on the form! Got two tickets for the first weekend after opening center mez! So excited.
THANK YOU for sharing the code, I'm not sure about anyone else as of now but I still haven't received mine via email. Thanks again --

She’s ALL for it. She was excited and thrilled with Lauren Ambrose’s casting back in 2012 for that scrapped FUNNY GIRL revival and she’s been very supportive of any new FUNNY GIRL. Since this revival IS actually happening, I think it’s safe to assume she’ll be very vocal and supportive. Yes, you can expect her attending Opening Night along with photos of her and Beanie in numerous magazines. Barbra is quite savvy in keeping herself relevant.

Thank you for the code. I will see it right after the opening. I have my reservations about Beanie, but the rest of the cast sealed it for me. I'm really excited to see it!
Got tickets for the first show after opening night! Glad to see that these tickets aren’t crazy prices!!

This is exactly me - it's so nice to make these discoveries in the moment with the story, but my initial thought with this one for some reason was that maybe I should have some background information. I don't usually have the impulse to do so but for this show I definitely do, and I think that might just be because of polarizing the original (?) version was.
Happy to have someone in the same boat lol
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!
What a cast so far! Should be an exciting one.

I couldn’t pass a on a $39 ticket so I grabbed one for a Wednesday matinee in May. I guess my plans to see Beanie’s understudy are in the trash now.. but maybe I’ll luck out.

What's with the understudy thing? She may seem miscast but she may also shut us all up.
