I agree 100%. I hope they don't use any of these pre recorded promos in the actual "live version".
Based on what i have seen from the promo, this looks great. i hope they really do pad up jennifer hudson tho because motormouth maybelle is supposed to be a big woman and jennifer is slim thick. i love the costumes and the sets and the casting is great

I highly doubt they will (since it would also go against it being LIVE) and this isn't the first time they've done promos like this - they've done them for the past several Live events. The promos look wonderful and I can't wait to feel the energy on December 7th. :)

Noticed that in the promo, for the shots of the finale of YCSTB, I saw Amber with the rest of the cast but no Velma. I know that this is just a promo, but I really hope they haven't cut out Velma from YCSTB. This is probably me just worrying too much about them cutting anything Velma related. LOL. But could not help but noticed this!
Just to get this clear, now our complaint is that the promos are "too polished"? This thread...
darrely102 - Cheno was still doing her show @ Lunt when the promos were shot. I think she had actually flown in the day of shoot - none of the insta/snapchat pictures had her in costume unlike everyone else.
Maddie looks excellent. I personally could have used a physically bigger actor for Corny because Derek doesn't make me want to cheat on my partner. I still can't wait for this! :)

Not a huge fan of Tracy here. She really seems to lack the enthusiasm and spirit of the character. Everything else looks great, I hope they work out the room tone issues they have in all their other live musicals.
Well, here's confirmation that Kristin is now out in Los Angeles doing the endless dress/tech rehearsals with the cast as seen in this rehearsal photo of the cast performing "You Can't Stop the Beat" for their "live" appearance on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast. You can see her as Velma on the left of the photo holding up her pink dress.
Will there performance for the parade not be live? I guess they aren't in LA, so it's not like they can't perform in NY, but they could still broadcast part of it from LA.

They are rehearsing the number on the exterior Baltimore set on the Universal Studio lot in Los Angeles where the December "live" broadcast will take place. Los Angeles is only 3 hours behind the east coast so they can easily perform after 7am their time which is after 10am eastern time. This west coast/east coast "live" scenario has existed and been done for decades.
Are you talking about the hairspray broadcast or the parade performance?

In years past, they've done a behind the scenes special that aired before the live broadcast. Any idea if they're doing that for HAIRSPRAY? I hope so, I loved watching the rehearsals to the moment they step on the soundstage.
Wickedly talented! But really, these promos are so good. The recording comes out on the second right?! I don't even know if I should listen to it in order or start with my favorites. This cast is just too good.
