I didn't try for either Hamilton or Bruce but did it for Imagine Dragons and got tickets but it was such a pain in the ass, they say it's to help stop scalping yet I just looked at Imagine Dragons tickets on stubhub for next week and there's hundreds of listings. So clearly this system doesn't do anything to prevent any of that anyway, it's just a few extra hurdles to make people go through for no reason.
I don't know how effective the "system" even is. After the sale, tons of Springsteen tickets immediately appeared on StubHub for outrageous prices. It's hard to imagine that a verified fan would do that.
None of my friends have yet. Nervous to know if we just didn't get access or if the email hasn't gone out.
"Champagne makes me drowsy!"
WORDS TO LIVE BY:
As we stumble along on life's funny journey. As we stumble along into the blue. We look here and we look there, seeking answers anywhere. Never sure of where to turn or what to do.
Still we bumble our way through life's crazy labyrinth. Barely knowing left from right nor right from wrong. And the best that we can do is hope a blue bird, will sing his song as we stumble along.
I actually really like this ticket sale system. Yes, it is stressful, but it keeps people from buying excessive amounts of tickets for resale. I was successful in using it for Hamilton.
Please...."verified fan" is just the name they've given it. It means nothing about the intent of the registered person. No, there is nothing keeping any of us from registering with the full intent of selling our tickets. But, I want to believe, it keeps any individual person from scooping up LOTS of tix only for re sale.
But, of course, before the kinks are worked out on this, the scalpers will have figured out a way to "beat it". same with counterfeiters!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I think its a good sign that we haven't heard of ANYONE getting an email. Likely means they haven't gone out yet.

The email after verification said this:
WHEN YOU’LL HEAR FROM US AGAIN If you are randomly selected to receive an Access Code, you will receive an email on Monday, October 16, two days before the onsale date of Wednesday, October 18, confirming your access and onsale details.
DATES AND DETAILS FOR THE ONSALE
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, October 18 at 11am ET* to those with an Access Code.
If you are randomly selected to receive an Access Code, on Wednesday, October 18 you will receive a text message with your unique Access Code, purchase link and a reminder of your designated purchase window. Keep your phone handy - your text notification will arrive 1-3 hours before the onsale begins on Wednesday, October 18.
Access Codes will not be delivered until the morning of the onsale and will be required to purchase tickets.
Neither my husband nor I have received anything today FWIW. I'm guessing at least one of us on this board would have by now if emails already went out. Hopefully we will still get something today - a yes or no in advance of Wed would be nice. Especially when I can only make one trip to NY next year and only have a handful of days for options!
From the confirmation email I received from Ticketmaster on Oct. 1:
"WHEN YOU’LL HEAR FROM US AGAIN If you are randomly selected to receive an Access Code, you will receive an email on Monday, October 16, two days before the onsale date of Wednesday, October 18, confirming your access and onsale details."
So I'm guessing Ticketmaster either changed its procedure, or only people receiving codes will get an email today. Maybe standby folks too.
I'm in L.A. No email here either at 9:30 am PDT / 12:30 pm EDT. I'm staying glued to this board for the moment anyone posts that they got a confirmation email.
10am pst/1pm est and still nothing. Checked twitter to make sure we weren’t the only ones and it looks like everyone is waiting (though lots think they’re getting the actual codes today). It’s going to be a long day. Super stressed.

Well, given the prices, a lot of fans bought two and then sold the other to bring down their own costs.
But, even so, if you look at Hamilton and such, bots and scalpers were able to buy 30,000+ tickets the moment something went on sale. This system prevents that from happening. Can anyone enter for the sake of buying and flipping them? Sure, but that is legal.
