Relying on cast tweets is a pretty unreliable source of information on a show's plans, especially one when the inmates are running the asylum.
I am only joining the thread now as I want to be part of BWW history. I want to be able to say I was part of the longest running thread about the trials & tribulations of one little show. Never have I seen so much energy expended on one show. I think this may even eclipse Rocky.
We enjoyed it for the record. It was doomed once the powers that be decided, for whatever reason, to have a 2 month preview period on a show pretty much set. To do it during the holiday season just added to the insanity. The piss poor marketing did not help either.
Feel sorry for the creative team but this will probably have a life after Broadway. Come to think of it, to me, Broadway is no longer the be all and end all. A fitting place for the show would actually be Las Vegas
I hope those involved are remembered at Tony time. There are a glut of musicals this year (see why Hamilton delayed its opening until next season). With all the musicals this season, this probably will not get many tony nods which is a shame
Oh well, I am waiting for my boot of it as we speak.

Rob McClure posted this on his Facebook account:
"Friends, if you haven’t seen “Honeymoon in Vegas” yet – now is the time. Despite tremendous reviews and incredible audience response, ticket sales have not been strong enough to keep the doors open much longer if there is not a quick change. Tony nominations are coming up in just a few short weeks. If we get nominations, it could be a real game changer for our show - but we won’t know unless we make it there. You have the power to help us. All you have to do is buy a ticket and come have a delightful evening at the theatre. It’s worth your time and it’s worth your money. “Vegas” is everything a great musical comedy should be. Please don’t wait. Follow Jack Singer’s lead and “take the leap!” ?#?Jump4Love? Come tonight. Come this week. Already seen it? Come again! Here’s a link to purchase tickets: www.honeymoonbroadway.com."

Mr. Roxy, I stopped reading when you called Honeymoon in Vegas "one little show" for the second time.
Sorry I will remove the offending word
I was just trying to separate it from the big mega shows.
The struggle is finally over. Good chat, team.

Closing has finally been announced.
Honeymoon in Vegas to Close on Broadway
Well, one must give them credit for holding on as long as they did.
Here's hoping they'll at least be remembered with some (Tony) Award nominations!
ouchhhhh this is so painful!! I saw this coming once Rob McClure posted that message on his Facebook page. Its so sad that a great show couldn't find an audience, and that they have to close just 4 weeks shy from Tony nominations. I hope they still get recognized though
HUGE victory to Jason Robert Brown! His longest running FLOP musical!
NOW they close? They hung on all winter, now only 3 weeks until nominations, NOW THEY CLOSE?
I am so confused.
Oh shut up philly.
Saddened for all the cast, crew, and everyone who worked SO hard on this. It wasn't great but it deserved a better life.
What?? How could any other JRB show run longer the masterpiece that is 13 the musical?
(I actually loved 13 but I see its flaws okay)

Sorry, Philly. You were, in your words, WRONG
I'm sad that this one didn't catch on. I had such a great time both times I saw it.

Philly, since you were wrong about Honeymoon staying open until Tony noms, does this mean bisexuals exist too now?
They must have changed their minds, HE KNOWS ALL OF THE PRODUCERS! Don't blame Philly!
"HUGE victory to Jason Robert Brown! His longest running FLOP musical!"
Bridges was his longest running musical - it ran for a 100 performances.
