I popped into what I think was the lounge after one of the shows. It was smaller than an airport lounge, a room off to the side, no windows, with a bar, some standing room maybe space for 5 or 6 tables at the back.
Nothing to write home about, its much more exciting in the lobby but I could see if someone felt claustrophobic or couldn't stand in a line, or maybe needed a private area--maybe I could see it being of value.
Not having windows really would be a deal breaker for me.

My understanding is that once you get tickets, a timer starts counting down and if you don't purchase them, they are released. I think that is all that is happening here when people say they will release them at a certain time, it is just when Ticketmaster will release them if they don't finish the transaction?
Despite spending $600 on a premium seat, I'm not a huge Potter fan, I just wanted to see it soon and knock it off the list, so I am so glad to not have to look for online tickets for this anymore, I've never been back, heh.
*Trying to move away from the "Ticket Holding topic"*
I just wanted to thank everyone for all their input here. I finally saw the show this past Wednesday and I am still in awe of every little thing I saw on that stage. I was never expecting the show to totally capture me and make the time feel like 15 minutes. I felt like a kid in the movie theatre all over again.
I was in Orch J 4, perfection. No heads in the way and almost direct center. Plus, I have to add, the seats are so damn comfortable. I have tickets again in September, but really want to sit front row Dress Circle. So I will be searching, can't wait to see it from that perspective. Such a brilliant piece of theatre! First time in years I actually bought merchandise (from part 1 and the "secret" stuff from part 2.).
Does the theater generally ask everyone to arrive 1 hour before the show time? Do the doors open that early? My friend was lucky enough to win Friday Forty tickets for opening Sunday and we weren't sure if the hour early was a general rule or they needed everyone in before the red carpet or what-not. I've never been to an opening before so not sure how it works.

The one hour before request isn't specific to the Broadway opening, they're asking that for every show. The theater doesn't open until ~30-40 minutes before curtain but the lobby and merch shops/bar are open an hour before, so you can wander and buy snacks/drinks/souvenirs while you wait for the theater doors to open., not sure if that's going to be different on Sunday.
I hope you have a blast Sunday, it's going to be an amazing night.

As the poster above said they open the doors to the lobby and stores about an hour before. The house doors open30 minutes before. For opening night though I’d get there early. You could join the crowd and try to get the celebrities and everyone to sign and say hi to them. They might open the doors earlier too since it’s on opening night. I hope you have fun I’m super jealous you get to go! Definitely share your experiences!!!
I just wanted to report back- I was there this week, and my seat was DRESSR, Row A, Seat 10, and I thought it was a wonderful seat. Would've preferred Seat 2, but the only tickets I could pull up were first row, non aisle, or a few rows back, aisle. I'll usually sit back further to get the aisle seat, but I was SO glad I opted for the front row. Loved experiencing the show and all of its effects with no heads or movement in front of me! I did see people at the other end of my row - (around maybe seat 20 or 22) craning their heads at a few parts, so I wouldn't go much further into the row than that. There was also pretty good leg space - I'm 5'6, and was comfortable the whole time. A gentleman a few seats down from me had been swapping seats with his friends (they were seated all around the theater) and I heard him remark that our row had the best legroom that he experienced.
If I go back, I'll probably try for front orchestra just to get a closer look at the actors' expressions, but for the first viewing I think getting the full picture of the spectacle was the way to go.
I also agree with going early. I usually duck into a show 5 minutes prior, but I took the full hour this time, and enjoyed walking around and taking pictures. Also - once you take a picture of the façade on 43rd street - definitely walk around the block to enter on 42nd street. There was no line over there.

If you are a ticket holder, I would strongly encourage you to NOT approach any celebrities in the house for autographs. Opening nights rarely, if ever, start on time, so there is no real need to be there earlier (and none of the important people will be there before the actual house opens anyway). Also, many theaters do not offer bar service nor merchandise sales on opening night. I'm sure they will for Harry Potter, but you never know. Opening nights are entirely different.

I meant to ask for autographs and say hi in the crowd at the red carpet, not in the house. I’m sure the celebrities will become very overwhelmed if everyone goes up to them during the actual show.
I just snagged (2) $130/part tickets for 4/26 + 4/27!! There were still more pairs available at that price point on those dates!! I might pass out from excitement right now!!
Anyone experienced the ATG Ambassador lounge? Thoughts? How early does it open, how many people were sharing it with you, was it pricey, is it open between shows? Inquiring minds want to know!
It looks like there are some great deals to be had at the box office. Yesterday, I picked up an $80 per part dress circle box seat for this coming Thursday/Friday, for a friend. I was under the impression that those seats were considered $199 primes. Possibly a little less, but definitely not $80. The pricing is all over the place, though. They had a balcony box seat for Wednesday at $120 per part. I've never seen any box seats on Ticketmaster, so it's definitely worth a trip to the box office.
Definitely buy tickets in person if possible. I bought what is definitely a premium seat for $120 pretty performance.
Most shows start reducing ticket prices closer to the performance, but usually only at the box office. Plus they want too sell you the ticket, so if they are able to sell you tickets at a reduced price, they will.
For anyone interested, the tiered orchestra seating begins at row S. It's a step above row R, which should offer some great sightlines, regardless of who's sitting in front of you. Also, don't be afraid of the balcony. That vantage point provides a pretty awesome view of some of the effects.
Hi everyone! I will be returning my $40 per part ticket for row M in the dress circle on February 14th/15th. I’d really like this ticket to go to someone who hasn’t seen it yet and doesn’t have a ticket yet. Please PM me if you’d like the ticket and want to coordinate. Thanks!

You could also try to use the send to friends feature on ticketmaster. Idk how exactly it works but that could probably save the hassle of returning it and getting the other person to buy the ticket

I think the performance is too far away for me to do that, because the button isn't pressable, but thanks!

With the amount of tickets showing up regularly, I don't think people are planning 10 months out at this point. Probably best to just return it, I think their trickling out of tickets will spook away scalpers anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much about who gets it...
Has anyone seen anything regarding the ticket limit rules? Does the limit reset with this new block? I bought 4 tickets for 2 weeks ago, would love to see it again.
