I guess I'm just under the impression she'd want to move on. Who knows?

Has anyone else heard this or just mrkringas? ...and am I the only one that kind of hopes she doesn't?

Must be A LOT of money. I couldn't blame her for that.

re: Idina is coming to London!

I'm just wondering if the show itself will actually garner the same kind of attention over there as it has here.

re: Idina is coming to London!

Dottie...I'd say it's possible it won't- Chitty didn't do that well here because American kids aren't as attached to the movie, and I don't know that the Wizard of Oz is as well-known in England as it is here. But there's a LOT of hype around Wicked. I could see it going either way.

Regarding Idina- If anyone hears anything official, please post it.

re: Idina is coming to London!

probably the worst possible wishful thinking rumor type!

If she does, great for her (and for the London audience I guess since they won't have to suffer one of the 'let's-just-see-how bad-I-can-mistreat-that-part-before-blowing-one-of-my-arteries- screaming-at-the-top-of-my-lungs-at-the-end-of-Defying-Gravity- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA' Elphabas... re: Idina is coming to London!)

I'd like to know where you heard that though. I suscribe to a lot of West End news sites and to the Wicked UK site and I haven't heard about it... and don't say someone posted that on a livejournal, please? re: Idina is coming to London!

or maybe Universal doesn't get enough hype for the advanced sales and they leaked the rumor on a well chosen girly board! (bad Zoot!)

re: Idina is coming to London!

So, let me get this straight.

She won't move to London to star in EVITA, but she'll go for WICKED.

Forgive me if this is a tad rash, but I think it's a dumb career move.

re: Idina is coming to London!

It's also bull.

"While casting is not expected to be announced until mid-May – open auditions started today – Stone said performers will be British, including “two great actresses” and “people that you definitely know” in the supporting roles of the Wizard and Madame Morrible"

re: Idina is coming to London!

yeah... ka-ching or not... I don't see her returning to a part she's desperately trying to break away from for a 15 week run... I mean... c'mon people... weeks of rehearsal AGAIN for a 3 month run just when she's working on a CD?

I think Universal is using the cheapest method of the book to inflate those sales!

re: Idina is coming to London!

Please see the link above. Mrkringas is full of crap and there is no mention anywhere of anybody American being in the London cast of the show.

Yeah? What tipped you off? The link I posted to the details that said the London cast would be British?

re: Idina is coming to London!

Ben Vereen is opening the show as The Wizard. Megan Hilty confirmed this at the stage door to some fans, and Jen Waldman also told me this is true.

Haven't heard anything else casting wise...
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
