The new one w/ Tom Hewitt is amazing..I Love it
Some highlights are..
-Dammit Janet (great back-ups)
-Touch-a Touch-a Touch me (one of the cd's greatest!)
Go for it! it's worth every penny ...guarenteed
i like it better then the movie one
the back up singers are great!
GREAT performances by Daphen Rubin-Vega, Alice Ripley, Jarrod Emick, Tom Hewitt, oh hell, the whole cast does awsome!!!
---Hope this helped

Yeah, I love this cast recording.
It's worth it for Raul Esparza's solo in "Over at the Frankenstein" place alone.

It's so good. The vocals are 10x better than those in the film.

Not crazy about Hewett's Frank (he doesn't take the pathos seriously...maybe a straight man shouldn't play that part)but the cast recording is very, very good.

It's a great cd. I prefer to the singing to th emovie cast, but the movie is a good cast too.
Go with the revival.

I love this recording! It's got great orchestrations!!!
By far my favorite recording of the show ever!
Daphne's rendition of Science Fiction is so awesome!
By the way Borstalboy
Tom Hewitt is not straight.

Excellent cd. I LOVE Tom Hewitt, LOVE Raul Esparza, and LOVE Daphne Rubin Vega. Everything about it is great, it's much more rock-sounding.
Borstalboy: Tom Hewitt isn't straight. He came out a while back, but refused to tell who his partner is since they're both in the business.

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

This question assumes that there is any version of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW worth getting. There isn't.

I agree...This is a really great recording. Everyone is so good in it...Only wish Joan Jett was in it, she was a blast in the show!

Ahhh, this thread makes me yearn for the days when the Amherst Theatre across from the University of Buffalo's South Campus used to show "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" every Friday night at midnight. *sigh*

GREAT recording. I recently became reacquainted with it and I think 'Once in a While' is horridly underappreciated.
I really don't think there's a weak link in the cast.

It's a shame I can't get it on iTunes. Now I have to treck down to a record store and try to find it.
