I was thinking about getting the revival recording of "Rocky Horror" with Alice Ripley, etc. Is it worth getting? I have the movie soundtrack, which is okay. I used to have an obsession with Rocky Horror and it's slowly coming back, so I was comtemplating picking this up. What do you think?

Not crazy about Hewett's Frank (he doesn't take the pathos seriously...maybe a straight man shouldn't play that part)but the cast recording is very, very good.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

It's a great cd. I prefer to the singing to th emovie cast, but the movie is a good cast too.
Go with the revival.

"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

Ahhh, this thread makes me yearn for the days when the Amherst Theatre across from the University of Buffalo's South Campus used to show "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" every Friday night at midnight. *sigh*
