But from watchingFunny Girlticket prices, they tend to drop closer to the day of the show. Maybe that won’t happen this time because it’s the last week, or prices will go up. But $335 for side orchestra seats seems awfully steep for a musical with a famously weak (by reputation) second act, even if Michele is as terrific as I assume she would be. I will overpay, but only so much, especially when ticket sales have gotten soft enough that tickets now are available for less than half of that.
If I don’t seeFunny Girl with Lea Michele for $670 for two people, I will survive.I’m OK if you think I’m being foolish."
The show is good. I’m glad to have seen it but wouldn’t bother with those closing week prices either.

And that's fine... you're allowed to be personally priced out of a show... But continuing to post about the pricing of the show being too high (for you) in the final week isn't going to change the producers' minds or change anything. The bottom line is this - the show WILL sell during the final week, and it WILL sell at high price points - it's a high profile revival with a star turning in a once in a lifetime performance. The producers aren't going to lower the price just to make it convenient for you, and while I understand being frustrated, continuing to harp on the prices over and over isn't going to change a thing.
I asked a question a month ago, then brought the question up again yesterday given recent events (prices soft at the moment, show on TKTS booth). I have never criticized the producers of this show, or any show, for trying to make as much money as possible for their investors. Stop inventing criticisms I haven’t made. Not sure why you felt the need to chime in, given that you had nothing to add.
I paid 500.00 per ticket for Feb 4th performance and have not regretted it one bit. Lea and cast were so good I felt that I was watching a performance that will affect me always. It was magical and beyond spectacular. If I had the time I would see it again and again and pay whatever I could to do so. I have have seen hundreds of Broadway performances some of them exceptional , some of them blah but this is in the top 2/3 in my theater going experiences. If you can afford it think of it as a gift to yourself and stop moaning about the price. (and no I am not rich , I live on social security but treat myself ,..life is toooooo short)

I'm not "inventing criticisms" - you just continue to post about your frustration with the pricing for the final week of a major star-lead Broadway revival. We get it - you think it's expensive... I'm not sure what your end goal is. Folks on here have told you it's worth it and have pointed out that prices are likely not to go down, but no one can decide how to spend your money except you. I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't get what you're looking for.

You’re not trying to be rude? You wrote: ‘The producers aren’t going to lower the price just to make it convenient for you.’ Did I ask them to do that? No. You referred to my posts as ‘harping,’ which is certainly a pejorative term. This was long after my question was asked and answered twice. You were just piling on.
Everyone talks about trying to make the theater more welcoming, to make it less of an elitist place where people aren’t afraid to say the wrong thing or wear the wrong outfit or admit to concerns about cost.
But you and Sutton don’t really believe any of that. If someone says something with which you disagree or who asks a possibly naive question, you are quick to brand them a harping, tiresome fool. Sutton is just more honest about it.
I’ve been around this message board long enough to know that’s how it goes sometimes. But what about someone new who might have a question or who reads this exchange? How will they feel posing a question that Broadway sophisticates deem unworthy? We know the answer already. Hardly anyone posts a thing.
And the truth is that you don’t care. You want to feel like you’re part of an elite, exclusive club. That’s how you like it. It’s how you write things like, ‘I’m not trying to be rude’ after you have already been rude.
Personally, I think they'll lower the prices for those final 2 weeks. I believe that the bulk of the center orchestra and aisles of the side orchestra have been held back since those dates were put on sale, so, if you go by what's been available, it doesn't look like they've sold a ton of seats at what they're currently charging. If they drop them, it might still be more than you're willing to pay, but I completely understand not wanting to pay $222 for the rear mezzanine.
Thanks, TaffyDavenport. I trust your assessment of these sorts of things as much as anyone’s, and you are consistently polite and helpful. Thanks again for your advice on Sweeney Todd seats earlier this year.
But I don’t know what’s going to happen and I’m done posting about it. I will keep an eye on the website when the time comes.
If I buy a resale ticket to Funny Girl on SeatGeek, and Lea Michele happens to be out, will the box office honor a refund just as if I had purchased directly?
(I have already seen Julie Benko three times and she's wonderful!)

I agree with Taffy. But whatever you do.. do not pay $222 to sit in the rear mezzanine. The seats up there are insufferable. No need to support that. I think her last two weeks will sell really well. But I think if you're patient and smart about it.. you can luck into a decent priced seat. Sometimes lots of folks with tickets hoping to resell will come down in price as the dates approach. She truly is giving an amazing performance that for me was worth every penny. But if it is hurting your wallet ... don't fret about it. There are plenty other shows to see.

I sat in the last row of the mezz and it was not bad at all!!

$222.00 for not bad at all? That is crazy. The mezzanine in that theater is very tight. You also feel like the person in front of you is on your lap. Fine to sit in the mezzanine. But have some dignity. Do not spend that kind of money for that kind of seat. I know it is a different situation in timing. But two weeks ago we got orchestra row G center for a Lea night for $110.00 from TKTS.

"Have some dignity" LOL hun it's buying tickets. Dignity? Please. It's not that serious. I meant just that I could see perfectly fine sitting back there, not that I was okay with that price.
My niece is a fan of Lea Michele and I was offered a really good price for Row A Orchestra Center. In the August Wilson is the stage really high and is it worth sitting there if its the only option?
Thanks.

Whether or not to sit in the front row can in general be a divisive question. FWIW, I love sitting in the front row generally, and I sat in the front row twice at August Wilson (both times to see Lea in FG). I thought the seats were phenomenal; I loved being able to see every expression! Also, I don't want to spoil, but there's a moment in Act 2 where it's especially fun to be in the front row, especially if you can make it front row center. I did not think the stage seemed especially high.
I saw second row center for a Julie Benko performance, and it was really cool being that close- You don't miss anything, and the stage really isn't that high. I would definitely recommend it.

A great way to get affordable seats for Lea Michele (and she's totally worth it), is to wait till close to curtain time on Stubhub. Prices start dropping. I was able to see her for roughly $100 in great row orchestra seats that way.

Mine were from a client not sure where they came from but got 2 for $100.00. :)

Funny Girl, a hit from last season thanks to the drawing power of Lea Michele, has returned 70 percent of its $15 million capitalization to investors and is on track to turn a profit.

There's a flash sale right now. I just bought F1-3 for $220 for two tix! That's absolutely incredible. So glad I'll get to see her again before it closes. Saw her in Sept, but I hear she's even better now. Sad Tovah and Ramin wouldn't be on, but for that price, it's a bargain.

Love July 4th weekend in the city. Purchased tix for tonight's performance at TKTS an hour before showtime for 50% off and had a great center orch seat. Lea is everything already said in this thread and more. What a great way to kick-off a four day weekend.

How much was your tix? I've never done TKTS in person. Wondering if it's worth it.

I paid $100 at the Lincoln Center TKTS location which pleasantly surprised me.
