It was an exciting night. Lilias White, Norm Lewis and Dionne Warwick were standouts. And the guys from Harmony were terrific. Brian Lipton reviewed it here:
"A true highlight of the evening was a preview of Harmony via the performance of that show’s title tune and the stunning ballad “Stars in the Night” by the six extraordinary actors (Sean Bell, Danny Kornfeld, Zal Owen, Eric Peters, Blake Roman and Steven Telsey) who will play the singing group The Comedian Harmonists. He said it was the 'role of a lifetime.' But I haven't seen any announcement yet."
They have a lot of time to go before they open, so they will probably draw out announcements & have continual new press releases so that they can try to keep this in the news.
I suppose they can try to put him in featured, but I thought he was more of a lead than any of the Harmonists, and he was nominated as lead in last year's awards.
I don't want to get ahead of myself but he better be nominated after all he has done on Broadway. And if he wins, that will be a special moment at the 2024 Tonys

Whatever it is, it's fortuitous that he's willing to have them in his concerts and do this type of promo for the Bway show this far out.
As far as the "shot out of a cannon" comment, really no different than any obscure actor who gets a lead role and suddenly has to deal with both playing the role + promoting it + being flaunted by the press (Linedy G, Lorna C, Zegler, Platt in DEH, Jersey Boys, the obc of Hamilton, etc)...I guess these guys are lucky that they're an ensemble, not individually carrying the show. The real whiplash happens if a show fails and all that stuff goes away quickly.
I'm inclined to agree with Betty22. These are six young talents, five of whom are making their Broadway debuts, who recently performed to a sold out Carnegie Hall sharing the stage with Dionne Warwick, Lillias White, Norm Lewis and others, and accompanied by the NY Pops' 70-plus musicians. And now they are about to perform on the Radio City Stage for five nights with their composer who happens to be an international pop star, and accompanied by a 50 piece orchestra. I'd say they probably don't know what's hit them. Regardless, good for them. I hope they revel in every moment.
This is such a smart move by Julie and her team. Originating a role on Broadway in a new musical that already is a New York Times CRITIS PIX is the perfect follow up to her amazing success in Funny Girl.
Agreed. This is a solid show and she'll be wonderful. Before last September, she was the one everyone was talking about from Funny Girl. I'm so happy she ignored the drama and thrived.

Can you link to those press materials? It may be that they're just using production photos that include her, which they are legally allowed to do with credit.
She responded to someone's TikTok comment confidently asserting it was Harmony, that that was just for the workshop.
HOWEVER, the comment was specifically that it was announced back in September that she was joining Harmony. So, if you want to read into her comment or take it as a misdirect, she could be saying that the September announcement was only for the workshop, but not refuting that she will be announced as joining the Broadway cast tommorow.
