And, so far, no one at Show Score (whom I got my tickets through) seems to know anything about a cancellation on 7/19. Oy. What a pain. Should have listened to that voice in my head that told me NOT to go through them.

What a pain but I understand things happen. I feel so bad for people who have planned trips around this. I’m super fortunate because I live around the corner from the theater so picking a new date and time is a non issue.
Hopefully, this is the only issue this production has and it will be worth the wait.
I sent them a message this morning, about an hour later they replied asking for my confirmation number and dates I was looking to exchange to. Hopefully I'll see an email or reply later today, but I feel better knowing at least I'm some sort of queue, instead of being on hold on the phone. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Taboo - this is wildly strange: Show Score (just heard back from them) said they have NOTHING which indicates the 7/19 performance has been cancelled. I'm going to be beyond pissed if they screw this up and I'm not able to get other tickets. (I have no access to FB from work, so I can't try to contact them through that, but will once I get home tonight.)

Emerson ended up responding to me on Twitter. They had me DM them, and my cancelled tickets were rescheduled for another date within 30 minutes!
The employees are really working their butts off to get back to people. It must just be a nightmare today. They were really kind and fast to take care of me once they were able to respond.
They actually called me around 1. Unfortunately I cannot have my phone on me at work, so I missed it. Gonna be trying later.

If you can, DM them on Facebook or Twitter. They're actively getting back to those messages throughout the day and are doing exchanges without getting on the phone at all.
People should have only booked through the theater's website. People who don't run the risk of not getting much information or being refunded. Third party websites are just stupid. I've made that mistake before. I booked for August 16th the moment they announced the extension weeks ago and haven't been affected. I still feel terrible for the people who booked it for their first two weeks, it seems like such a long time to fix an issue, knowing this is a short run with high demand. This was handled very poorly.
Except Show Score does this all the time, they buy group tickets and have an event. I have no doubt that I'll get my money back if that's what it comes to, I'd just like to know so I can make alternative arrangements if necessary.

I heard back from them via FB DM about 3 hours later and they said I was confirmed for my new date and sure enough, there was a new ticket in my email inbox, with a better ticket than what I had before. (That was damn miraculous!)
Luckily, I was able to modify my Amtrak with no fee. I did lose out on the hotel I wanted, but I found another cheaper one I liked.
dramamama611, if it helps, this is what t came in my email last night. If you move to the 18th, maybe I'll see you there.

Thanks, Taboo - maybe now they won't think I'm a conspiracy theorist!

I also contacted them through the Emerson FB. I looked on the website beforehand and saw my exact same seat from my cancelled performance to the performance that I wanted to move to. I mentioned that in my message on FB and I was confirmed for that seat. I kept my tone friendly and understanding.
They're getting so many 1-star reviews on their FB right now. Honestly though, there really isn't much that they could have done and they're working really hard to make things right. However, based on people's reviews, many want the theater to reimburse for flights and hotels, which just isn't a thing, unfortunately, unless it's bought as a package.

Agree. They are doing the best they can of a crappy situation. I just got my seat swapped via DM. I really do think that’s the best option. Phone calls just goes dead. Yesterday, you could still ask for a callback and not lose your place in queue but the shear volume today made the impossible. Just be courteous and they can be very accommodating.
I agree that it totally sucks, but I'm not really sure what people really think can be done. It's not something that could be forseen.
UPDATE: I sent ShowScore a copy of Taboo's email, and they "investigated" and found out I was right. Of course, I was right HOURS ago, too. End result: both my ticket costs AND processing fees are being refunded
Now I have to decide what OTHER tickets to get.

I agree that the 1 star reviews and threats are not nice for the theatre. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they did not come up with the new performance schedule. Obviously whatever happened is on the theatre owners. But, I would definitely put the producers more at fault for the random cancellations or time changes.
I messaged them through Facebook and am waiting for a response. But, I bet it won't be until tomorrow.

I don’t do Facebook and their phone line is not working. Considering that they knew this was going to happen at least a week in advance, their efforts are truely amateur.
Thank you to everyone who posted about contacting them through Facebook or Twitter. I had been calling unsuccessfully and never thought of contacting them through social media till I saw the posts here. I sent them a couple dates I could do, and they responded about 4 hours later that I will get the same seat on one of the dates I suggested. Best of luck to everyone in this fiasco!
haven't really been following the cancellation schedule but just noticed that my ticket for the July 18th performance is still on. What is the reason the 19th was canceled?
Why, do you trust no one? If there was no construction failure (or other structure related concerns), why were the actors given a week off from rehearsal?
The only thing that I'm dying to find out is why did it effect any performances after previews started. THAT's the part that has me scratching my head.

Dramamama, was that a question for me? If so, I almost NEVER trust press releases. That’s due to my time working for press agents and sitting around hearing people thinking up the reasons to give the public for the delays. In my experience, no matter what the press release says, it’s almost always that the actors aren’t ready or drama backstage with changes that can’t be implemented in time.
I live nearby the theater so I see it on most days. From the outside, there's so much construction in/around the building that houses the Colonial so I was skeptic if they could put on the show by June 27th. It just looks like there's so many potential hazards around that could have caused something structural inside to fail. Just my observation though.
