"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

This is shocking news. It would have been (and I hope still will be) heavenly to see her triumph in Night Music on Broadway. Let's hope she recovers and lives a long, healthy life.

I'm really hoping this isn't too serious and that she comes out okay.

I've never heard of this website, so I'm going to automatically doubt its credibility, bu they are saying that "The reports indicate that Ms. Richardson was critically injured with a brain injury and there are rumors that she is near death."
I sincerely hope that this is a fabrication made by a disreputable source.

TheActr97J, it would have been a good idea to read a few more comments before saying you 'don't trust' a website.. Someone posted a link to PEOPLE.com and they confirmed the story.

Dear God in Heaven, make this not be severe.

I believe "TheActr97J" is questioning the "near death" comment rather than the accident itself.

I did read the comments, thank you very much, and People.com didn't say anything about her being "near death".

It's deep in the middle of the night by New York time, but still before my usual bedtime. I know that in Canada a man is probably right now sitting by the bedside of his loved one, hoping for the best and fearing the worst. My thoughts are with you, Liam.
We look up to celebrities and stars, follow their careers, they become our inspiration, and heros. But then there are those people whose names and faces we don't automatically recognize, those who are daily working to save people's lives and keep us healthy. The doctors, scientists, technicians and the technology that facilitates their work. These become stars at a time like this, the ones we look up to, who provide us with inspiration, hope and trust. I thought I'd thank them at this moment.
To Liam, family and friends, I wish you the strength and success to carry you through this dark night. I, too wish the best for Natasha.

New article posted 1 hour ago.
No update on her condition but they have some more details regarding the confusion of questionable reports.
I know PEOPLE has "confirmed" it but there still seems to be some big holes...
the Police have no record of an incident?? Huh?

I will keep her and her family in my thoughts.
For anyone looking for a real gem of a movie of hers, try Widow's Peak. It stars Richardson, Joan Plowright, Mia Farrow, and Jim Broadbent.

Very sad. I have enjoyed everything I have seen her in.
I hope this gets more people to wear helmets while skiing. It has been awhile since Sonny Bono and Michael Kennedy died skiing. It is a dangerous sport and head injuries should be taken seriously. In high school, I had a neighbor die and a friend in a coma for 6 months and was a totally different person when he got out of the hospital, both in skiing accidents.

Hopefully, they can turn this into a positive. Richardson and Neeson are high profile enough that they could help raise awareness on taking proper safety precautions and using safety equipment. In a perfect world Richardson will be well enough to speak of this encouter to educate others.

Awful news. Just awful. My thoughts are with her and she was in my prayers last night and will continue to be.
She's an extraordinary actress and an incredible human being. I truly, truly hope she'll come out of this okay. She's a legend, and rightfully so. This is just so terrible.
