Darling, I'm simply stating my opinion on an opinion board. I didn't think it necessary to write "in my opinion". Although, I thought it was the general opinion that Peters' performances in the 80s, especially her collaborations with Sondheim, were the peak of her esteemed performance career. I happened to love her Sally, but others didn't. Since her performances in Into the Woods and Sunday In the Park survive in a widespread way, the opinion I had heard most often stated (just opinions, of course) was acclaim.
Some people think Elizabeth Taylor is at her peak in Cleopatra. Others think Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, or even Butterfield 8 (I don't understand, either). But personally I think her best performance is Suddenly Last Summer. Different strokes.
