Finally!! Glad it’ll be possible to see this amazing production again. Sad that it’s losing Ann Harada too, but glad Julia Lester and Kennedy Kanagawa are both there.

Oh darn no Heather
While obviously not Heather, Patina is going to be great. She killed it in the Hollywood Bowl production. She proved she can play a villain with that deliciously delectable and mischievous “stealing candy from a little kid” vibe she exuded in Pippin as the Leading Player.

Now tell us when tickets go on sale pleaseeeee (I read the article twice I don’t think it mentioned when)
I said this in the other thread but seeing Brian as The Baker is a dream come true for me. He just has this quality that I know is going to make for an exceptional performance that I know will destroy me at the end of Act Two.

I guess I’ll finally see a production of Into the Woods.
I didn't want to get my hopes up when reading the rumors yesterday, but WOW! Patina Miller was ferocious & incandescent in Pippin. I saw a Wednesday matinee later in the run, with a bunch of high school field trips in the balcony, and she gave everything.
I am a bit sad it’s not going into the Sondheim, though.

Weird…does anyone else see that the article seems to have disappeared from playbills website? Did someone reveal it too soon

Omg, why is Harada not continuing? She was perfection.
Will it be eligible for the Tonys?
Looks like Playbill spoke too soon!
The link still works, but it isn't on their homepage right now. Excited for this to be happening!

So sad by this. Is Jackie Hoffman available?
So happy this finally solidified. I’ve been giddy for weeks waiting for the announcement. And the replacements they secured are top-notch since couldn’t keep everyone from Encores.
From the Times
“Jordan Roth said that the physical production would be the same as at City Center, with an onstage orchestra and minimal sets and costumes. “The simplicity and poetry of this production delivered this story right to our hearts,” he said.”

I didn’t make it to Encores but Brian as the baker seems perfect

Looks like I'm making a quick trip into the city in August. I feel like i can't miss this.

This isn’t all that surprising to hear. It doesn’t need a set. The show and the performers are the stars, plus it saves the producers money and maximizes profit for the 8 weeks it runs.
OMG! I am so seeing this!

Tickets will be available via SeatGeek.com/into-the-woods beginning today at 10 AM ET. American Express® Card Members can purchase exclusive American Express® Access tickets at 10 AM ET by visiting SeatGeek.com.
People were saying the transfer was D.O.A. because we didn't get an announcement at the final City Center performance, but, when the possibility of huge profits is there, producers will move heaven and earth, and this is a case in point. As has been said before, Sara Bareilles was the key, and, if she was on board from the beginning, it was always going to happen, one way or another.
