Per some Instagram sleuthing, Pimentel is heading out of town for a project where she will be a "Queen." Think she could be joining the tour of SIX? Or is there some other royal musical or opera happening this summer?

CAMELOT at the Muny?

CAMELOT at the Muny?"
Ta'nika Gibson was already announced for Guenevere, unless that has changed. If Shereen had the option to do an incredibly high-profile run of Into the Woods on Bway vs a one-week summer stock run of Camelot (a contract that likely wasn't signed yet), it's a pretty obvious choice.

Will be back in NYC for work in August and scored a ticket for 8/18. So excited to see this one!
I checked ticket availability and this is not selling well!

Turns out this actually is the case. Just announced today that she'll be playing Guenevere

Well that’s interesting. Ta’Nika drops out of Camelot to retain her role as stepsister but Shereen gives up Rapunzel in exchange. Unexpected. I find the pairing of either of them with Robert Petkoff kind of creepy to be honest. He’s soooo much older. The actor playing Lancelot is super young too.

I agree on paper this seems like an odd career movie for Pimentel. And before this was announced, I might've been as skeptical as you were, for the same reasons.
But in retrospect, I kinda get it? Guenevere is a MUCH better role than Rapunzel, by a really wide margin. I imagine it will be much more artistically fulfilling for her, especially since she already got a chance to play Rapunzel. Plus, any number of miscellaneous reasons why she might simply prefer to do Muny this summer (maybe she likes the team, maybe she liked St. Louis, etc.)
She could probably use another Broadway credit, but it seems like she's doing well enough to establish herself. This role was never going to win her a Tony, or provide her with long-term steady work, or even get seen by big industry people (many of whom probably mostly saw the show at Encores!). She might actually get more attention in the long-run for playing Guenevere.
But even if Camelot isn't the best strategical career move, I applaud her for doing what she thought was best for her.

She also might have worked lined up after her stint that would conflict. Tours etc.

This is my assumption now that we have an announcement. No agent would ever recommend someone take a role at the Muny –– even a principal role –– instead of a Broadway contract that could also include a cast album, filming, etc. Or perhaps she didn't love the experience at Encores.
Either way, she'll sing Guenevere beautifully.
And yes, Robert Petkoff is too old (59)...but so is Matthew Rhys (47) if he's indeed the one who is still doing it on Broadway, unless Sorkin has specifically upped the age.

I just checked 10 dates in July, a mix of weekend and weekday, and orchestra sales were solid on each day with about 1/3 or more of the mezzanine sold each day.
That seems fairly decent to me compared to most other shows right now and the pattern of people purchasing tickets close to the date.

Not to mention they haven't launched a particularly large ad campaign other than the day they announced, and even that was pretty contained to theater websites. I'm sure they're gearing up for a broader reach.

Not sure if it was ever covered (I remember the talk about NPH going into another Broadway show, but lost track after that), but here's what he's doing this summer that kept him from continuing with Into the Woods:
Neil Patrick Harris Joins Doctor Who as 'The Greatest Enemy the Doctor Has Ever Faced' — Get a First Look
In my opinion looking at the seating charts the advance for this show is strong for something that hasn't even started performances yet. If the strong word of mouth continues I think they are likely going to be close to selling out each performance - maybe there will always be a handful of tickets available especially at quiet times of the week and maybe not everything will move at full price/premium (which could make all the difference between breaking even or not with this short run!), but I don't think anyone has to be devastated. It's looking healthier than other shows I followed somewhat closely before opening (2011 Follies, 2018 Bernadette Dolly, 2021 Company, 2017 War Paint).

Hi, I am looking to purchase front row tickets for Into the Woods. As of this morning, it looks like SeatGeek has removed row AA, is that because the seating for this production starts with the front row being at row BB? (To my knowledge, AA has never been on sale so probably not sold out). Thank you!!

I am looking forward to his new series Coupled on Netflix.

I'm not sure if I incorrectly looked at some of the charts or if they have opened up more seat availability but it does look like they have a little excess availability than I would say would be desired at this point. Not a disaster but hopefully they get strong reviews + word of mouth as I think things do need to pick up a little bit now if they stand a chance to make their money back.
American Express seating is useless. No advantages. What am I missing?

"I just wanted to offer a bit of clarity for you in hopes that it will help you with your purchase. At The St James Theatre the closest row to the stage is BB and that is for Orchestra Center, Right and Left. There are no AA rows that will be available at a later date because this particular theatre starts out with BB rows." (From Seatgeek support)
Has anyone else been the St. James and can confirm this information? Row AA is on the seating chart and on a view from my seat, but not where you select seats So I'm just a bit confused. Thanks!!
I wouldn't put too much stock in what SeatGeek or any of the other ticket sellers say about seating. In my experience, they know nothing more than what they see on the screen in front of them. The St. James has a row AA center, which they're selling for The Piano Lesson, but they must have removed it for this production, possibly because of the new mask-optional policy and proximity to the actors.

That's sort of what I assumed. Thank you!!!
I just discovered that this Thursday's matinee is actually an Entertainment Community Fund Producer's Pick, and the seats on their website are much cheaper than the ones on SeatGeek. The orchestra seats they have, starting in row L, are $75, no fees, and the majority of the mezzanine seats, starting in row C on the sides, are $50, no fees.

Given the limited engagement and Sara Bareilles being involved I though this would have sold a little better by now, but maybe it’s not so surprising. For all the love of Sondheim amongst hardcore Broadway fans, his shows don’t have a whole lot of appeal to the more general public, or the younger theatre fans.
Also as others have said I haven’t seen a whole load of publicity around this, although Sara has been on a few chat shows.
I know Sara’s not the only major cast member but she’s definitely the biggest name that will shift tickets I think. But ITW isn’t a show like Waitress, which has much broader appeal I think.
At least it's a good sign this will be up at TKTS frequently.
Just saw a little video of the stage of the St. James with the set loaded in. It's 100% identical to the set at NYCC, as expected. Hoping the costumes are at least improved.
