It looks like Gavin Creel will not be performing from Sunday, July 24 through Friday, August 5."
Jason Forbach will likely be on as Cinderella’s Prince for those performances. He was the understudy for both Princes at Encores and was fabulous as Rapunzel’s Prince the first week. Since he’s transferring as well, it would make sense he’ll remain the cover.

Has anyone had to use/had any luck with the "sell" feature on SeatGeek? I acted too quickly and purchased tickets for a date that doesn't actually work. Even though the site says you can sell your tickets, I'm not seeing a "sell" button when I pull up these tickets in my account. Maybe the option will show up later? Anyway, if anyone happens to be looking for 2 tickets on Thurs Aug 4 @ 7pm (row L, seats 114-115 - center orchestra on the Aisle) let me know. Just trying to make back what I spent ($376.10 total with fees).
I'm so crushed that it's closing DAYS before I'll be able to be back in The City, but I feel so lucky to have seen it at City Center and I'm so happy for the cast and crew as well as everyone who missed out on it at City Center who will now get to see it! The original cast members returning are all wonderful and the new additions will be fantastic! Crossing my fingers for a one-week extension (although I know that's unlikely because Piano Lesson is right on their heels).

I agree. Ive been trying to talk to support for an hour about exchanging a ticket and its like rocket science."
I had to move my Funny Girl seats to another date - several emails - never could talk to a Live agent - it was painful. Telecharge is the best to work with.

I was able to snag an aisle row A balcony seat for $99. So I'm happy. Fees were $11.04. The performance I chose was Sunday July 10th. Anyone know why that performance is at 6:30 PM while all the other Sunday performances start at 3:00 PM?"
That is the opening night performance!"
Thanks ElephantLoveMedley. I did not know that. I chose that date because I will be in NYC for BroadwayCon and wanted a show on Sunday to fill out my weekend. So it worked out really nice timing wise with the final day of BroadwayCon. The fact that it's opening night makes it even better."
I did the same thing. I was going to check August dates, but saw that and bought.

Yes - usually Opening Night tickets don't drop until a few weeks before the date. I got My Fair Lady and Escape to Margaritaville that way. I saw the 6:30 time and checked the article and it said opening night was 7/10. I got a rear Orchestra seat.

I love that this is the third time in the last decade that Benton and Soo shared a role in professional productions.
“Comet”, “Hamilton”, and now “Into the Woods”

Benton also replaced Soo in the MasterVoices OF THEE I SING concert at Carnegie Hall!

N16 is directly in the middle of the row. The seats are even numbers only in right orchestra (and odd only in left orchestra). The 15 seats in the row range from seat 2 to seat 30."
Thanks for replying! I’m afraid I mistyped. My ticket is N116, and center orchestra is specified.
I screwed up with dates and now have tickets I can't use. Am I able to sell these on Seat Geek? Although there is the ability to sell tickets, I couldn't find a way to list. Anyone have experience here?
Well, dang. I guess I'm flying across country and seeing this.
Came for Sarah B, stayed for Brian D'arcy James.

I believe this is the week his original piece Walk On Through is being presented at the Eugene O'Neil Centre in Connecticut.

This reminds me of the "soprano island" jokes between Kelli and Audra during Miscast. A new generation.
Random but there was an understudy slip for Cameron Johnson in my program at NYCC even though there were no absences. Joshua was a big selling point for me but I do Cameron would make a good prince (either one).
I wonder if there's any chance Josh Henry would understudy the Wolf/Cindy Prince track and play it when Gavin is out? Chuck Wagner and Christopher Sieber both understudied that when playing the Other Prince. But Gavin's take on the Wolf/Prince is rather different from this track in the past.

I contacted SeatGeek support because I also purchased too quickly and messed up! They let me know that my tickets will be available to sell starting at 10 am ET tomorrow (Friday), so I imagine that's the same for everyone.

I was able to get on my laptop and saw on SeatGeek that there are 16 seats in row N. Seems to be unique. So excited for this production!
For those wondering, the box office won't be opening until June 20th.

I had the same thought.
I’m curious - have other Encores! transfers marketed themselves as a limited run only to eventually extend?
I went ahead and got a ticket for the announced run, but I wonder if this closing date is set in stone. I imagine the price we pay for this kind of cast IS a limited run due to scheduling.
I don’t believe Chicago, Wonderful Town, Gypsy, or Finian’s Rainbow were planned as limited engagements (I might be missing other transfers). Only Sunday in the Park with George and this, as far as I know, have been strictly limited. And that’s only because of the leads in the cast.
If this extends, I can’t imagine it would be more than one week. The Piano Lesson is slated to begin previews on September 19th, meaning they have less than a month to load out, load in, and tech as is. Crazier things have happened, but I’d plan on this only running the 8 weeks currently slated.
That relies on several things:
How well this sells
If the theater is still available
If they have suitable replacements lined up, if needed. (I feel they'd have to have this in place soon-ish - if they are even considering going further.)
I'm sure there are some other "obvious" things to consider that I've overlooked. but....
My guess: no. While WE are incredibly excited, I'm not sure if the general public is - after all there is what most consider a terrific movie version, and these are bway names, not Hollywood. What is scheduled as closing still has 75% inventory. I checked about 8 dates, only one was close to selling out - and those seats are in the balcony. (Not very scientific, of course.)

Interestingly enough, to my knowledge, CHICAGO was the only one of those listed shows planned as a limited engagement. They had the Richard Rodgers for a set amount of time (Steel Pier was coming in). When it was a hit, they then had the Shubert lined up to transfer to. At that point, Nederlander wanted to keep the show in the Rodgers, but the Shuberts were insistent on taking the show as they already had it contracted for its flagship venue. The show then played the Shubert for some time before moving to its current home at the Ambassador. (I'm pretty sure that's what happened, but anyone please feel free to correct me if anything in there is wrong).
A bit disappointed there won’t be more fully realized sets but I understand the financial angle. It would be great if they improve Rapunzel’s wig and the window set up where it gets pulled. Also it was probably where I was sitting but I could see Granny ducking behind the bed for the whole scene.
If it’s really essentially unchanged from NYCC besides some cast swaps I’m not overly compelled to go again, except to see Brian D’Arcy James who I haven’t seen live yet. Will probably wait to hear reports and pull the trigger in August if I feel I need to go back.

That's correct regarding CHICAGO. At the time they announced a Broadway transfer, there were no available theaters heading into the Winter/Spring. They booked the Rodgers with just a 3 month run announced. They extended as far as possible at the Rodgers and eventually were able to snag the Shubert since BIG ended up as a flop.

I wish they would’ve put more effort into the graphic design for this production. Aside from the original Broadway run’s logo and the wolf/man original west end key art, I’ve never seen risks taken for this show. The design is always a pedestrian version of little red entering book covers (2002) or her entering this weird forest/curtain design for both CC and Broadway.
